A lot has transpired over the last couple of years for Emoni Bates, and things could've ended a lot worse for him. through it all he's remained extremely poised and greatfull for the opportunities that's come his way.

Honestly I feel like the kid got city fame and his ego grew big... Got down to Memphis being 17-18 and got humbled on the team cause penny didn't care about his status...

Emonis training never evolved. His bag should be way deeper for being ranked so high for so long. Still a very good player but his skill set is limited to 3 point shots and minimal playmaking.

True He definitely rushed his process when he was in hs which hindered his development I think

How? Since he’s been in the summer league he’s improved his shooting percentages across the board. He’s not on the active roster because the team already has guys with a similar skill set and they know they have a gem they are just waiting on a chance to bring him in such as injury or a player not quite panning out and opening a door for him to really show what he can do. Only thing that got in his way wasn’t his game, it was the off the court activity which made GMs question his decision making and worth ethic which further spot lighted his inconsistencies

@@jayyisbeastmode2487 again. Still a great player. But just think of how many players his age are much better than him now. That’s all I’m saying. He’s ELITE at what he’s elite at no doubt. But he’s been elite at the same things and nothing new since he was 15 is all I’m saying.

It’s not a development issue. He doesn’t have the speed to be in the nba. His size covered a lot of weaknesses in high school. College not so much and pro ball for sure exposed.

I've been watching his games with the Charge and he's a lights out shooter but he needs to work on his handle and getting to the basket bc right now his game is a bit one note

That’s the one glaring whole that I’ve really started to see starting in the summer league. I thought he was going to be a lot more capable of putting the ball on the floor to create for himself.
