this was one of my favorite covers, and re-recorded to possibly hit streaming soon 👀 getting covers on streaming is a lengthy and costly process (with licensing fees and getting art made and all) so if you want to support what I do and help get this (and more) on streaming, consider supporting skatune network on Patreon!!!! www.patreon.com/Skatunenetwork
okay you have Ska channel, I have to ask because nobody I have ever talked to has ever given me a straight answer. What constitutes Ska? what makes Ska music distinct? I keep thinking its the trumpet but im sure theres more to it than that, and everyone who knows music better than me just shoulder shrugs and says they can tell from vibes. so please tell me what elements makes Ska music so I can enjoy the Toasters in peace
@@Gojiro7 the rhythm. It’s a rhythm that emphasizes the offbeat, mainly a +2+ +4+ pattern. The upbeats are normally driven via the rhythm instrument while the backbeat (2 and 4) is heavily emphasized by. The snare and kick. The genre heavily uses syncopation, so lots of hits on offbeats and accented notes on off beats in general. There’s lots of ska that has no horns. Horns are common in the genre, but that’s not an integral part. Some of the greatest ska songs of all time have little to no horns
@@SkaTuneNetwork Thank you.....not gonna lie that got a little over my head with the technicals @_@ but I got the main take away from it. Thank you very much.
I was in a ska band about 15 years ago and we were called Viewers Like You because we loved watching PBS! We totally had a cover of this song but yours is much better. Well done. It brought me back to the good old days.
I didn't know it was possible to condense the energy of an entire ska band into a single person, but here we are. The fun you are having while recording this is infectious!
I wish I had ten percent of this guy's positive energy, but I won't be greedy. Five percent of this guy's positive energy is plenty enough for me. Heck, two or three percent will do just fine!
I’ve been following your channel for a long time and I think this is my favorite cover of yours so far. Completely captured the energy and the sax solo was brilliant. Love it
Holy shit this was 🔥!!! I just saw the title “Arthur” and knew I had to watch…and then got this! Who is this dude??? Did he really play the whole song on his own?!
I've never really watched Arthur so this song has no nostalgia or significance to me, so I can confidently say that this cover works excellently on its own merits! It's great!
I remember watching the first episode of Arthur after school at the beginning of the 96/97 school year. One of the all time great childrens cartoon with an iconic theme song
Written by Neil Diamond, then performed by The Monkees, then covered by numerous bands from there, including Neil Diamond (?!), Smashmouth, and now Ska Tune Network, among many others. Thank you for this awesome cover!
Ooh, what a bop! I feel like the rhythmic tune of the theme song already lends itself to ska. So just being covered like this just makes it so much better😊
Came here through your Gourmet Race cover. Not normally one who goes looking for ska, but man, your dancing just makes it seem like you're having so much fun. It puts a huge smile on my face!

I would LOVE to be able to stream this song!!! Amazing work and one of my favorite theme songs of all time, it's so perfect for this!
I'd love to hear a cover of The Magic School Bus theme!
@@SkaTuneNetwork Thank you.....not gonna lie that got a little over my head with the technicals @_@ but I got the main take away from it. Thank you very much.
this song was made to be covered by skatune network
Makes sense since this is the second time 😂
Let's be honest, this guy could make this comment relevant to every song, the whole channel is proof 🤣
Originally sung by Ziggy Marley!
Literally one of the best songs for them fr 💖
I was in a ska band about 15 years ago and we were called Viewers Like You because we loved watching PBS! We totally had a cover of this song but yours is much better. Well done. It brought me back to the good old days.
That's such a good band name
PBS is pretty punk if you think about it
Ngl "Viewers Like You" goes hard as a band name
i want to hear it.
Hey! Me too!
A natural evolution from the Ziggy Marley penned, reggae-inspired original, with even more infectious, get-up-and-GO! energy. Brilliant.
Written by Ziggy Marley?! That's amazing. #TheMoreYouKnow
PBS: We need a fun, upbeat song for a wholesome family cartoon
Ziggy Marley: Best reggae song of all time, got it.
Chase the devil
Pass the dutchie
Broader than broadway
I mean its nice. I like it. But best? De gustibus non est disputandum
I like pass the dutchie
Hands down one of the most wholesome bangers of that time
I didn't know it was possible to condense the energy of an entire ska band into a single person, but here we are. The fun you are having while recording this is infectious!
Is humanity ready for this? It doesn't matter. We need it. Desperately.
My son started watching this show recently and I had forgotten how hard the song slaps. Nice cover.
Yeah, Ziggy Marley rules
have you seen the finale movie? It's so good
petition to beam this out to space for any aliens to hear
D.W. threw her Crazy Bus CD away and now she plays this all day
Ska Tune is a master at musical arrangement.
"Hey, D.W."
"Heyy!!"
"Whoaaaaa -- oof!!"
I wish I had ten percent of this guy's positive energy, but I won't be greedy. Five percent of this guy's positive energy is plenty enough for me. Heck, two or three percent will do just fine!
My favorite part of these is that he looks like he is having a blast
That's the best kind of ska. It's especially great when the lyrics do not match the upbeat vibe at all
They really do! Jer's enthusiam and energy is infectious in all their songs, whether you're watching the vids or just listening to the song.
*They
@excessiveclownery4375 oh cool I didn't know they were chill like that
The nostalgia mixed with the funk, these are truly the best feelings
Man I love your hair, it really adds to your performance. Every time you jump its like "!"
I can see why you're this popular.
I am ashamed to not have realized I needed this in my life until now
I’ve been following your channel for a long time and I think this is my favorite cover of yours so far. Completely captured the energy and the sax solo was brilliant. Love it
How does one possess this much talent!? The world is a better place now that this exists🎺

My favorite PBS cartoon remixed as SKA - Heck yeah!!

Top 5 Ska Tune network covers.
Been waiting for this one from the start. Well done, friend. ❤
I've never really watched Arthur so this song has no nostalgia or significance to me, so I can confidently say that this cover works excellently on its own merits! It's great!
❤THANK YOU, PBS KIDS❤
Almost better than the original, and that’s saying _a lot_ cause that shits a certified classic
I remember watching the first episode of Arthur after school at the beginning of the 96/97 school year. One of the all time great childrens cartoon with an iconic theme song
Perfect way to start the day!
I need this for my morning stroll to work 🍃🍃🍃 😝

I love the song and the alarm clock that is permanently set to 4:20!
YOOOO this is such a blast from the past :D awesome awesome awesome
seeing the audio editor during the trombone solo was amazi g tysm
If you hadn't told me this was a cover I'd have just assumed it was the original, props to both you and Arthur for introducing kids to new music!
This song fits so well with Jer's whole deal, I'm surprised they didn't cover it sooner! Incredible work.
I wish I had the energy you showed here
As for the song itself, this is a friggin' bop and a half
❤PBS KIDS FOREVER❤
I have no idea how I got here. I think I like Ska now.
Yeah, that's how we all started down the ska path - We don't know how we got there; but it works itself out
such a good cartoon opening and of course an amazing cover!
Having fun is a talent and you have it.

This made me incredibly happy.

Most people would think that this is an original song it is done so well and fits into Ska perfectly.
So glad you redid this! ❤ Thanks!!!
I didn't grow up with the Arthur series (maybe the old books), but I love Ska and this song is so good!!!❤️
Came here through your Gourmet Race cover. Not normally one who goes looking for ska, but man, your dancing just makes it seem like you're having so much fun. It puts a huge smile on my face!

The solos are the best part of your videos!!!!

What a wonderful kind of day when SkaTuneNetwork posts a cover of a childhood classic!
Arthur was never really my main cartoon growing up, but man does the theme song slap. Phenomenal cover!!
My siblings are 8, 10, and 12 years younger than me and we watched so much of that dumb show. The nostalgia hit hard ☺❤
I'm sorry you thought it was a dumb show :(
