I do. Not sure it was worth the extra $. Pros for the ludicrous: throttle if great when you stop in a bad spot. I use it to get me started when pedaling is not easy to get going. Extra speed power does not really make a difference. Cons: extra power is tough on the gears and chain..
The max I have ridden is 35 miles on mine. But I use as little assist as I can. You should not go over logs and whack the chain ring or the bash guard. My bash guard cracked doing that. And I have bent and straightened two 40 tooth chain rings You can bend the 40 tooth back straight with an adjustable wrench Also, I don't have Ludicrous on mine because there is no need for it, so you will probably get less mileage than I do
@@EL34XYZ Sorry so late getting back to you... I kept mine on 5. I did not see a real benefit to change it. I ride on level 2. I go over logs often, but have not had trouble with the bash guard yet (maybe I have been lucky). Did you replace your guard?
@@caliberstaffing I stopped riding over high obstacles because I cracked the bash guard on my X1. If I am not sure the bottom will clear the obstacle, I just stop and carry it over.
NICE! happy to see your in ride reviews on this bike and glad to see Luna gave good support and stood behind their bike! There is not much info on this bike out there as far as real owners, which kept me from pulling the trigger on one
Jason Long are you happy with the bike ? My friend just a Giant travers +1 really likes it I am trying to deciding which bike to get it’s about $1500 more
This should be the perfect bike for me. I have a motorcycle background and have rode mtb's. I know there are purists out there who will never touch a throttle. I will see you guys out on the trail. Oh, wait, I mean you will see me as I'm zipping by you.
What firmware are you running? Thanks!
Do you have the Ludicrous option?

Thanks for sharing! I hope to get one soon!
How tall are you and what size frame did you go for ?
I have a large (that is all they had when I purchased mine). It is too big. I am 5'8". I think large would be good for anyone 5'10" and above.
I'm 6.1 so I should be OK?
Correct, enjoy the ride.

Also, have you set it to 9 assist levels or 5 levels?

Do you recommend this bike still?
Absolutely. Awesome ride for the $$

I have a bunch of my X1 ride videos and info here

What size do you recommend I am 511?
Medium seems like a large. I am only 5'8, and the bike is a bit large. It also has large handlebars which make it seem larger then it is.

This bike is great. Being a motorcycle person you should check out the SurRon. Electric dirt bike. Goes about 45 on the trail. Blast
Jason Long,
on the trail you are very slow !
:)
