To be clear, fragrance doesn't hurt my SKIN, it burns by EYES. I can assure you, I do not put any products into my eyes. Even perfumes, fragrance in hand lotions, body lotions can do it. It's kinda like an onion.
I know so many people who have become sensetive to fragrance. Especially after the last 10 years of essential oil in everything. Its so concentrated, but because touted as natural people think itll do no harm.
@@EspadasYCopas it took a around a year for a fragaranced moisturizer to get my eyes sensitized. The burning is just not worth it. Stopped using it & bam problem solved.
Yes, fragrance (synthetic and natural such as essential) are proven to cause contact dermatitis which in term can cause hyperpigmentation and other issues. It doesn’t add any benefits to your skincare, especially on the face, so I always avoid fragrance in skincare as my skin is very sensitive and reactive. I used to love products from Lush but they are riddled with fragrance!
Loved this video! Hyram is the whole reason I started watching skincare videos and getting into my own skincare. I used to wash my face with any ol facial cleanser about once a week to once a month, or when I was in the shower. Wore sunscreen at the beach. Occasional mask at a sleepover. That was the extent of it for me lol. Now I have a thing I do every morning and night, I try and love all sorts of products. And wear sunscreen every day! I'll always be grateful to Hyram for that. He made it fun and exciting in a way that drew me in. And now I'm taking such better care of my skin.
I definitely wouldn't use jade. It's porous, so it will never be really clean once it's been on your skin, as I doubt many people have a porous-load sterilizer (a specialized autoclave) in their home. An ice globe made out of glass would be my choice for that reason alone.
The lip information has been really helpful! I didn't understand why my lips were so dry, and I was exfoliating them like a crazy person. I've been using overnight lip masks after watching this, and it's made a world of difference! My lips are actually getting color back now and I'm not overdoing it with lip balm anymore. Haven't even felt the need to exfoliate the last couple weeks!
ik not many people like hyram anymore, but in some ways he does help by informating basic steps about skin care, and because of him I started doing skin care, but I also watch other people like Dr. youn who have also helped me. People are hating on Hyram because he is using different products than what he recommends on his channel, but I think that skincare is always about finding better products to try. Hyram always talks about Cerave and the Inky List, but he has also said that those products are good to start with. Obviously certain people have had terrible results with those products, but that is good because now you know what works and doesn’t work and you can try something else, that’s how your learn.
Thank you for this Dr. Youn. I am glad to hear you are supporting a youtuber like Hyram. I love your advice and passion for helping people find the best skin care. Would be great to see you and Hyram cooperate as you are qualified Dr. and he is such a great skin care enthusiast and put together, it would create an amazing video/ webinar/ class...
TY for this video, not sure why there are so many hateful comments...I really like both of you..Thanks to Hyram I really started taking care of my skin, no he's not an expert and yes you can use Google instead but he opened my eyes about ingredients and products and now I'm on a great regimen (not his) and I'm more knowledgeable about skin care..
Yess agree, you can look it up on Google but you have to know where to look and do your homework about every single ingrediënt and how they work together or clash. Science based only and not some paper you find in a magazine. People don’t get that the knowledge Hyram has costs a lot of work, effort and time. Most people don’t have/want that amount of time or don’t understand terminology for reading science based pubs. Or only if they are very passionate about it like Hyram is.
Tring to figure things out alone is so overwhelming and can stoke anxiety! I'm so glad I have someone I enjoy to help me through the process of learning. It's easy to research things when you have the knowledge, but so daunting and seemingly impossible when you're starting from square one.
I usual pay attention to cleaning my face at night especially after a busy day cause it feels good to sleep with a clean face...but if I follow 9 steps I might fall asleep midstep....Hahaha
I agree, I’m the same way. Lol Yes, focusing skin care at night is more important than day because it allows your products work into the skin better. So you’re already off with a good start. 9 steps are unnecessary, I used to do this before going to school for skin and would avoid cleansing my skin at night. Simplifying and also buying what you need helps a lot. So if you have 9 products, I would suggest choose what you feel you need in the morning then choose what you need in the evening/night.
Same, I would be so tired before bed to to my skincare properly. So I started to just do it after I shower, or when I'm winding down the day, say 6 PM. That way I know I can get it a done and be consistent.
I just went to Dr. Anthony's brand website, checked the ingredient list and I'm already liking the products! Though I know many dermatologists are against organic skincare (which bothers me), I'm the person who love organic skincare stuff and believe the beauty it carries that's not available in the more conventional or drugstore skincare lines. Seriously, I'm sick of these specialists keep downplaying the efficacy of organic products and continue saying "there's no evidence organic is better". Youn Beaty's products are overall packed with organic, earthy ingredients (yay!) but do also have necessary 'more chemical' stuff to ensure the stability, texture of the product. I may want to try some!
I'm one of those people that reacts to any fragrance, my face gets itchy and puffy. And it takes a couple of hours to calm down, even then if I keep using a fragrance product, I'll start getting an eczema flair up.
Elvan Gulley ?? People have always been allergic to fragrance I personally avoid fragrance everywhere but my cleanser but no one said they’ll judge you for using a ingredient your skin can tolerate? Anti fragrance community is important in encouraging brands to keep people who can’t tolerate fragrance in their skincare included in at least some of their products. You don’t need fragrance to have good skincare if you want to use it for the experience good for you don’t hate on people who can’t use it though? That’s like hating on people who have gluten allergies or sensitives that try to avoid that ingredient in their diet
Elvan Gulley ok I’m poor? I’ve found some good fragrance free options that are affordable so I’m not sad. Why you mad about this man? 😂 who gets mad about skincare and people that can’t use fragrance do you get mad at people that have dietary restrictions
@@elvangulley3210 Oh no, that would be such a tragedy... Except that's never going to happen, because fragrance is still a huge selling factor for most people. You're really hung up in a total non threat. Enjoy your fragrances, they're not going anywhere.
Dr. Youn, it’s great to know your valuable inputs. Can you please explain the role of ferulic acid and whether it is a necessary ingredient in Vitamin C or Retinol creams/moisturizers? Thank you!
Vitamin C is water soluble and unstable on its own. Its been shown that the antioxidant vita c, works best when paired with other antioxidants namely, ferulic acid and vitamin e. They work synergistically for stability and more effective results.
My lips have been "addicted" to lip balm since I was a small child. I always need to have a lip balm on me or I panic. I do use a very good lip balm that is not addictive but I'm still addicted to the feeling and I feel safe when I have it.
I used to be addicted to Carmex and rhoto v eye drops. Wow my eyes hated me and my lips never seems to be as moisturized as I wanted. This was insightful, and enjoyed how you broke down what Hyram uses a bit more. I changed my skin care routine after I saw one of his videos and found that it helped me. Thank you for making this video, I hope you have a good day(:
Every other person: “EXACTLY Hyram has no degree and therefore I shouldn’t take him seriously” *but literally Dr. Youn basically agreed with everything he said????*
Imo: Hyram echoes what expert say. Which is great, much better than thinking he knows more. *but* I personally prefer to directly go to the experts instead of getting 2nd hand info. But that's a personal choice tbh. 🤷🏼♀️
@@leonamay8776 He is opposed to it, it's in his "things to never put on your face" video (something like that). I'm aware that other doctors disagree, though. I'm just pointing out a disagreement.
I appreciate this video! I have a minimalist approach to skin care, but target my skin issues in a strategic way. Some days - my skin care routine is 3 steps only (ie double cleanse + moisturize), and on other days I incorporate actives or peptides. I will say... I LOVE the Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner, it works wonders for my combination skin and dry cheeks!
@A Stranger - what I mentioned above is my nighttime routine. I don’t double cleanse in the morning! In the morning, if I do my simple routine it is simply cleanse with water, moisturize then SPF. I would never go without SPF - it is the most important step in our morning routines❣️

Hyram is the reason I started using micellar water as a first-step cleanser and fewer scented products. He's also the reason I invested in a chemical exfoliator (I only use it once a month) and stopped using sugar scrubs. My rosacea still sucks but my skin is much smoother and breaks out less!

Ooooo I love both of you guys, I’m excited for this video 😳🤚 I hope Hyram is Dr. Youn approved
Dr Youn is so likeable, and always respectful in his comments. A+ :)
The skin care community has been so supportive to each other unlike the beauty community ❤❤❤
Ikr like no drama 💙
The first time my mom saw Doctor Youn on my screen, she said, "Wow, Doctor Youn's got nice skin!"
Ohhh excited for this one... 🤔 See you in 15 hours!
How can i get to do surgery on my body
I definitely wouldn't use jade. It's porous, so it will never be really clean once it's been on your skin, as I doubt many people have a porous-load sterilizer (a specialized autoclave) in their home. An ice globe made out of glass would be my choice for that reason alone.
I've been watching Hyram for like the longest time, he was the first skincare youtuber I started following before a bunch of others
Dry or hydrated lips, ain't nobody gonna kiss me😂
OMG HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂 you really made my day

@@jasminewilliams3351 perfectly stated ❤
@@ltetobago Good luck with your journey!
Send Hyram your line so he can review it and talk about the ingredients! I love watching you guys!
Why does Hyram remind me of how young Sheldon would look as an adult
Omg yess
Same thoughts here as I watched him before for the first time
A bunch of men with short hair. They all look the same what's the difference?
so... regular sheldon?
Because he's just as annoying.
I usual pay attention to cleaning my face at night especially after a busy day cause it feels good to sleep with a clean face...but if I follow 9 steps I might fall asleep midstep....Hahaha
I agree, I’m the same way. Lol
Yes, focusing skin care at night is more important than day because it allows your products work into the skin better.
Yeah...I guess as long as youre consistent with your routine and the products that you use your skin will be good...hehe
@@Moonlight-yx5sg Lol it depends of the person i use 8 products and it takes me 5-10 minutes to apply them
@@justwatchingvids1560 That's what i do! i shower at night and immediately apply my skincare products
I use Cera-ve cleanser followed by two moisturizers at night. A creme and an oil and it has really helped my dry skin.
And here come the anti fragrance people trying to ruin skincare for everybody else
@@helenavasic9989 go get doctor prescribed stuff if enough of you keep crying they will remove fragrance from everything
Thank you!
Yup, would like to know as well... I have also seen it in some of the products
Vitamin C is water soluble and unstable on its own. Its been shown that the antioxidant vita c, works best when paired with other antioxidants namely, ferulic acid and vitamin e. They work synergistically for stability and more effective results.
Not gonna lie.... I don't want fragrances in my products with the exception of rose smell. I don't know why but I love it.
omg I’m with you ahsbah rose is too good for me to pass 😭
I like a gentle vanilla or fruity scent. Many floral scents irritate my nose so I typically avoid them.
You seem like such a chill dude, love your vibe and how informative your responses are 👍
My lips have been "addicted" to lip balm since I was a small child.
I switched to petroleum jelly only at night and my lips seem to be so much better. IDK (as I’m no pro on anything), if that’s good but it’s helped me more than that damn carmex 😂
@@milfmamajacks7520 i try to Only use one called aloe lips. I swear it's the best for your lips. I've used a lot of moisturizers for my lips but I always come back to this one. If you can get your hands on it, it is great, but a bit expensive, but worth it.
@@burntsoup same! I need to have a lip balm around me at all times. And I'm also not that dry, i just need to have the feeling of something on my lips or I'll feel bad and start chewing on my lips🙄

@Dr.Youn I love that you take time out of your busy day to help people stay informed. As well its nice to see a Dr. with a sense of humor. I have a new found respect Holistic plastic surgeons.
Dr. Youn your channel was the first I came across that educated about skin and helped me make informed skin choices.
Another channel that I follow is of Dr. Vanita Rattan for skin of color. It will be very interesting to see your review of her recommendations especially keeping in mind the skin of color.
Oh my God I was waiting for this video for so long I did not even know that this is video existed you and Hyram our two wonderful people who changed my mind completely about cosmetics and surgeries and a lot of stuff you guys are amazing and we need to see a collab in the future
Yay, my heart was racing, I’m so happy!
I really appreciate the explanation on top of these products. I've done 2 steps, 7 steps, 5 steps, 4 steps... the number of steps really doesnt matter as long as we're using effective products for our skin
This was insightful, and enjoyed how you broke down what Hyram uses a bit more. I changed my skin care routine after I saw one of his videos and found that it helped me. Thank you for making this video, I hope you have a good day(:
I love skin care and I don't know whos this guy but I love Dr Youn!
LOL his face when hyram said he ages so quickly

Hyram saved my life i learned what skin care is ❤️❤️❤️
Every other person: “EXACTLY Hyram has no degree and therefore I shouldn’t take him seriously”
*but literally Dr. Youn basically agreed with everything he said????*
Imo: Hyram echoes what expert say. Which is great, much better than thinking he knows more. *but* I personally prefer to directly go to the experts instead of getting 2nd hand info. But that's a personal choice tbh. 🤷🏼♀️
You don't need a medical degree to know about medicine.
Hyram says you should put petroleum jelly on your face, Dr. Youn has said absolutely not
@@ravenswood118 yeah.. Dr Idriss also used petroleum jelly.
And Dr dray isn't opposed to it either IIRC.
@@leonamay8776 He is opposed to it, it's in his "things to never put on your face" video (something like that). I'm aware that other doctors disagree, though. I'm just pointing out a disagreement.
Can i just say that the face Dr. Youn makes in the thumbnail is so cute🥺
Now there is someone who can react to Hyram's skincare 😃😃
doctor youn let me tell you something
I love your videos
keep up the good work
I appreciate this video!
Omgie a collaboration would be amazing with both of you on skin care products and routines 🥰🥰🥰 thank you for the info and content 🥰 we need it❤
Honestly I don’t take advice Hyram for that simple reason that he is the same as me: a skincare enthusiast. He doesn’t have any type of education that qualifies him to give out skincare advice. Give me the doctors (eg. dermatologists and plastic surgeons), the beauticians, the estheticians etc. 👏
@A Stranger Thanks for the heads up! Good to know beforehand. I’ve seen her name mentioned before but haven’t checked her channel out yet
I COMPLETELY agree. I take whatever he says with a grain of salt. Cassandra Bankson is a clinical esthetician! Love her channel! Dr Alexis Stephens is a certified dermatologist and shes amazing as well!

@A Stranger Yeah I definitely love dr Dray for her skincare advice. I just hate it when people discredit her knowledge about skin because of her alleged eating disorder. (I said alleged because we don't really know)
@@euphrasiepolly5575 So true. She’s a human being after all. Whether she’s struggling with something or not, she should not be judged and discredited as a dermatologist nor as a person in general.

Idk, I feel he is a good guy. (Good like good-hearted).

Hyram's manager is brilliant because he's basically a skincare enthusiast with a channel. He's extremely engaging, but he has no qualifications whatsoever. Kudos to whoever you are!

Retinol comes in gel form too. I use the prescription strength gel .01% or .1% (I can't remember which). I worked my way up over a year. The gel is a must! It dissolves and dries almost on contact.

Any vegan cruelty free products you’d recommend?
Now I just want Hyram to review Yoon Beauty products!
I love your reaction videos!!! Your voice and the way you explain everything is so refreshing and easy to understand. Thank you!
Hyram is the reason I started using micellar water as a first-step cleanser and fewer scented products. He's also the reason I invested in a chemical exfoliator (I only use it once a month) and stopped using sugar scrubs. My rosacea still sucks but my skin is much smoother and breaks out less!
James Welsh is not on the same level as Dr. Dray. I mean she is literally a doctor and his just Hyram with an accent. I enjoy the content of all three but lets be real and honest. Dr. Dray is kind of dry but you can tell that her research is what everyone else who does skin care content is repeating.
@A Stranger when did she say she had a eating disorder or is this a rumor?!? I’m confused.
@A Stranger so it’s speculation . also if it’s true those videos are so gross. It could be something she is handling privately so those comments and videos could be triggering tbh.
