As a kid me and my dad would always go to this one pizza place called Rustys and everytime is go I’d sit and play this for what felt like hours since no kids ever cared to play it. Such a classic and a throwback!!
I used to play this game in this "local" bowling alley (it was like a 7 minute drive) and I ADORED IT. Looking back now it definitely has aged, but by golly I would have never loved cars as much as I do today if I hadn't played this game.
Unlike the the Nintendo 64 the Arcade version is way better by cars by actuall name brands and models winning girl, Flag girl, people standing in the finish line, better turbo, and 2 nicer songs that they don't even have in the Nintendo 64. But what I love about the Nintendo 64 version is different types of race that's it.
@@NIKOJEFEthe cars were never licensed but the arcade version was much better. The arcade version let you run animals over splattering bloody chunks all over the road, making it the superior version.
Actually, they delayed the game in order to make it more faithful to the arcade. There's only so much you can do when you're constrained by cartridge storage and a graphics sub-system that's substantially slower than arcade hardware. Though, honestly what did you expect? This is the Nintendo 64, it was WAY WAY less capable than arcade hardware of the day.
Undoubtedly, the rubberband AI on this game must be really bad because the computer drivers were pretty tame until you beat Atlantis by a whopping 8 minutes. When you hit Sahara, the computer basically went full Mad Max or your ass.
I don’t know if you’ll see this comment since the video was made so long ago but Thank You So Very Much for making this video !! This has to be one of my favorite video games of all time !! I got this on in the back ground and love listening to watch watching it !! This is one game I would PAY full price for if it was ever available on mobile
I don’t know if it helps, but the newest game, Cruis’n Blast, is available on Switch, and it’s Neon Roller Coaster levels of amazing! It’s $40, which is kinda steep (I got it 1/2 off on a sale), but it’s one of the best racing games on the Switch, no matter what you’re willing to pay.

I have a very akward memory with this game. My friends mom took me and him to Toys R Us one sunny afternoon cuz he wanted to buy a game. They didn't have the game he wanted, but then I saw this and I wanted to buy it for myself. So I did, but what makes this an "akward memory though, this was the day before 9/11 happened. So this game always reminds me of that event, not in a bad way, but just in a weird way lol
I didn’t play this game or Cruisn World probably because Cruisn USA I had and found very boring. So I didn’t give the other cruis’n games a chance I think. Don’t want to sound like a hater but when I first got N64 my first games were Super Mario, Pilotwings, MK Trilogy, Wave Race, Extreme G, Star Fox and Cruisn USA. Not sure why I got it, if someone bought it for me or I asked for it but I recall being so excited for N64 and 3D and graphics that I assumed any game on N64 and not much to choose from anyway was going to be good and keep me content. it was an exciting time. Well, Cruisn USA was the least I played from my games. All the games had many ads snd marketing especially on mags. I still recall the huge hype with Mario and Star Fox then Zelda. Cruisn USA was the least game I played on N64 I believe because there was not much to it or substance for me. There was no strategy or action, no gameplay no tasks or missions to consider nor difficulty to undertake. Just graphics to look at and speed along with nothing to do and it got boring. Now Extreme G and Diddy Kong Racing are badass racing games. Besides the graphics, music and gameplay, there was action and missions to advance in game and keep you entertained and glued. Diddy Kong had the adventure element as well which made it a bigger game then just racing like Mario Kart. Played the shit out of Diddy Kong and Banjo Kazooie
This game is similar to the previous games in the series Cruis'n USA and Cruis'n World, except that you race in different locations throughout the universe Uses a telephone keypad for creating, accessing, and saving individual Player information. I saw the word Crusin and clicked immediately! So freaking awesome! I had Crusin USA on my Nintendo 64 and now I have Crusin Blast on Nintendo Switch! I hope they put this one on the Switch too! 🤘🤩🤘
You guys have no idea how much I loved the Cruis’n series. I was so excited to get Exotica for Christmas one year, but then could not be more disappointed with how the N64 adaptation was... Everything from The graphics, quality, cars... such a let down!
For a Nintendo 64, this sure seemed like a damn good port. Hardly arcade perfect, but not half bad by any means though. The new Cruis'n Blast game for the arcade is a great one, and hope it gets a Switch port one day too.
Alain de Jacmel the hell are you talkin about, this is a best classic game. You probably never even try it before. These games were much better than modern games.

The arcade game is gorgeous compared to this, the Nintendo 64 was not powerful enough to port this game properly

When I raced Cruis N World, I always found it easier to do the barrel roll in the car rather than the heli spin. I should pull out my N64 now.
This game in Korea is a alternative future where North Korea doesn't exist and both of this country are reunited on challenge mode
Such a rushed port compared to the Arcade version of Exotica.

Plymouth Prowler, Viper RT10, & Corvette C5 Convertible.
I LOVE CRUIN'S USA, WORLD E EXOTICA

Yes
But cruis'n exotica was also released on Gameboy Color
They should have waited until the gamecube came out, it could have been a near perfect recreation like smashing drive.
Personally, Midway should've taken their Cruis'n license, and used Naomi hardware instead.
And then port it over to the Dreamcast
The music always being the Caribbean or Asian music was killing me at certain points lol like in Ireland or Holland.
