REAL EXPERIENCE: I came from Brazil to the US 2 years ago because Brazil turned into a huge criminal mess. This happened because of ONE REASON: in 2003 the federal gov disallowed people to have guns, limited caliber even for security guards and people that had proved the real need to keep a gun. After that, the crime in Brazil climbed a lot. My wife had a .38 in her stomach in the middle of the beach on a holiday with the place crowded. House invasions are pretty common there. Like, every day a house in the neighborhood is invaded. They make the whole family hostage and spank you and your kids. If you try to react, they kill you. They stole iPhones, cars, motorcycles... in the middle of the street. They point a gun in your head and tell you to shut up and give them everything. Do you know WHY? Because they know YOU don't have a gun. They know good people are not allowed to have guns. AND... in 2017, 2 guys made a mess shooting in a school. LAWS that disallow good people to have tools to protect themselves and protect their families, DO NOT WORK. Those who have the intention to commit these things will find ways to buy guns on the black market. Or even use another kind of weapon or a truck as happened in Nice, France.
Is the same way in Mexico. Only criminals have guns and if they enter your home and rape your children you’re not allowed to kill these bastards. The regular civilian has no way to protect himself or his family. And every civilian feel defenseless. Only military and cops which are bought ot threatened by the criminals is the ones with the guns. So you are at the expense of the bad ones hoping they just steal from you and leave. Trevor is an idiot that lives in a bubble or is paid off by somebody to say stupid things.
Igor. Your truth telling story is a Fact. You were there you lived it. I am so sorry that you had to live though that terror. Just trying to enjoy a beautiful beach. Those pictures I have seen of those great places south of are boarder. I would have loved to be at those beaches. But I would never go where you went. So sad, just like your Brilliantly point/ said. It is coming to are great beaches. If and when they restrict Free American from a constitutional right of self defense.
@Paul Martin, my favorite asp Brazil video is of a man woman crime duo who went to rob some random street shop, when going to the register a man in orange shot and killed the man, and shot the woman in the arm, she fucking took the handgun outta his hand and left.
Exactly, they won't stop on the ARs, the next time they will ban rifles in general, after it the next is going to ban any shotgun that aren't Double barrel, then auto loader pistol, and when you go to see, a cap and ball revolver will be hard to get as a full auto AK 47.
@@Yeshayahu. Trevor Noah thinks that’s a good thing. He just admitted it, after all. Of course, when you say it, then they’ll call you a paranoid conspiracy theorist. That’s how they operate.

@Culture 25-8 What a totally nonsensical bull*%^% attempt at logic. Just because a man/woman buys a fire arm legally doesn’t mean that there won’t be something in his/her psyche that causes them to use the weapon for an illegal or nefarious purpose. So, you make gun ownership difficult, and for a select few, then within that select few one of them goes off the deep end and unloads on his family and the family next door…then what, you make it even harder until you just ban ownership outright. Btw, criminals who want something will Always find a way to get it…prove me wrong

Often times, celebrities do more harm than good. Case in point, USA for Africa. They made 183 million dollars. And, it ended up being used against the people that the celebrities were trying to help in the first place.

I’ve owned an AR-15, shotguns, and several handguns in my lifetime. Never once wanted to go on a rampage. Never wanted to commit crimes with it. I just bought it because I like it and enjoy going to the range. It was also nice to have another option for defending my family. I don’t know what it will take to reduce these “mass shootings”, but I’m sure leaving law abiding citizens defenseless is not the answer. Banning guns is not going all of a sudden make criminals turn theirs in. They’re criminals. They don’t care about the laws.
dealing with the socioeconomic causes and mental health problems would be a fantastic start, but that would involve dealing with tough issues, and Lord knows politicians just like catchy phrases and simple 'solutions' that pander to the uninformed

exactly...it weill happen over time...Later generations won't miss what they already don't have, then something happens with a handgun, so they ban handguns...the next generation grows up without them, and only has .22 rifles, till a mass shooter uses one, so those are banned...eventually over several generations, a complete ban happens...step by step...

I can totally understand why immigrants like me have thoughts aligned with Trevor. As grown up from a country been controlled by the government, we have the mindset that guns are bad and calling police is the solution. I didn't understand the power of 2A given by the founding fathers of the United States. As I was from Republic of China, we also had gun violence mainly due to gang activities. Surely enough, it's a gun free country. I have no idea why some American people believe what the politicians told them that gun free equals to no gun violence. Not only criminals are gonna criminal despite the tools they use, but also disarmed sane, sober, moral, prudent law abiding citizens. We then have no abilities to defend tyranny nor abilities to even protect our homes, our families, or even ourselves. The fact that he cites Nelson Mandella, who was actually a heavily armed, pro violence freedom fighter before he became a famous anti-apartheid figurehead in the West says it all. Putting him next to Ghandi is just as absurd, speechs or nay, there was nothing non-violent about Nelson Mandella, he advocated violence, there are picture of him proudly holding the guns he used to fight with! ...Pure fictions, I only recently found that out myself and it shocked me actually, after Mandella's name being upheld for all these years like some kind of figure of saintly virtue - but in this case its completely inverted - it was the guns he took which meant he could fightbback against tyranny.

It's actually a pretty good comparison to use on an ignorant anti-gunner, because they consider driving a right and firearm ownership a privilege. Since they can't grasp that fundamental fallacy, you can use it to your advantage to explain, exactly how Colion did, the parallels between certain guns and certain cars or certain crimes with both. For example, if someone wants to ban AR-15s because they "can" kill lots of people, then we should also ban sports cars because they *can* speed excessively. If someone wants to ban handguns because they're used in most crimes, then we should also ban large vehicles like pickups and SUVs because they're involved in the most accidents. Then, when those cars are banned, and accidents continue, we'll ban the sedans, and on and on until everyone is driving a the same, State-mandated car, or all cars are banned from private use entirely. Anyone sane can see the parallels there. If they don't, then they're a hopeless moron and there's no more point in arguing with them.
@Cog they come to this country, establish their platform, make money and tell America how backwards our country is. Funny how America is always called to help bail out or pressure other countries. My stance on gun rights boils down to a single sentence: NOTHING in the world is more important, than your ability to defend yourself, WITHOUT having to rely on someone else's charity.
We d0 need to stop the killing of children and innocent people. Gun control would help. Unfortunately it isn't guns that kill. It's those who possess the guns. People!!!! So we need better background checks.
If you've watched any of his other videos he's explained background checks. Universal background checks can't happen without a national gun registration which he's explained that those will never happen...why cause they don't work. Hitler used the national registry to go after political opponents and then eventually Jewish people. It would be no difference here if they are allowed. As long as the 2nd amendment exists the government stays weary of those that can challenge their authority.

Not saying what I'm about to say is completely true, but it does need to be looked into. We (as a people) have raised a softer generation. We have made life easier for the next generation than we had it. But at the same time, it should be that way. The problem is that everything is so much easier for people now that when someone has a issue(personal, health, mental, physical, etc), there isnt anyone there to help them. A lot of things can be stopped beforehand if people took the time to deal with it when the first signs started to show, instead of just blowing the person off (that doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean). People nowadays dont know how to just "deal with it". But short story long, banning firearms isn't the answer, getting people the help they need is a better option. Take a look at history, banning firearms leads to other bad things. Let's keep out freedom.

Exactly! Violent crime in South Africa is totally out of control, the cases where guns are involved often including criminals carrying around actual fully-automatic assault rifles while the citizens are limited to handguns, shotguns or bolt-action rifles, and that's just applicable to the citizens who were lucky and patient enough to obtain license(s). If the US implements gun control as Trevor is advocating for, expect violent crimes involving guns to a) get out of control and b) NOT be reported on by the leftist media, especially not by kontkop Trevor Noah.
The “Gun discussion” is actually simple and I love the way Colin keeps it that way. It’s a “Right”. So when you have discussions with folks about this just keep coming back to the Constitution.
Yes, but that's part of why they want rid of it so badly. Our willingness to use the constitution as a cudgel makes it a target. IMHO, it's a flawed document anyway. It's been bastardized and rewritten too much, and has too much left out in space.
I'd recommend you don't quote the Constitution. Has this ever changed anyone's mind, honestly? Not that I've seen in person or online. Be real. But focus on the actual root cause has changed a lot of minds in my circle. Criminals don't follow laws. Mental illness isn't properly addressed or funded. Maybe mention Constitution after the discussion but I'd skip that as well. The root cause goes unaddressed majority of the time.
I admire guns and respect them. At no time will I ever say we need any gun control. I believe the NFA should be illegal and I should not have to pay a $200 tax stamp for particular items. A survey said most gun owners agree? I don't know one person that has been asked..
Solutions, huh? As a famous and extremely intelligent man once said, “there are no solutions. There are only trade-offs.” I’m not willing to trade off my ability to protect myself in exchange for “protection” of the state.
I really wish the people that want to take away my right to defend myself and my family would simply understand that there is no such thing as a law abiding criminal
Hmmm....well criminals do abide the law to some degree I think because of law....if there's no heavy penalty for murder, I would think that every well equipped robber out there robbing stores would smoke the whole shop they're robbing and its inhabitants....the law maybe doesn't stop them, but it's a deterrence I guess....aside from some twisted moral compass that is...

If your a gun advocate shut the fuck up because things turn back to the norms after a few days.
@@therantingdead1 we already have an assault rifle ban. “Assault rifle” as defined by the US military is a weapon with semi auto, full auto, and/or burst fire capabilities. Those have been heavily regulated and prohibitively expensive since the late 1930’s when the NFA was passed. In that time, exactly one (1) civilian has been killed with an assault rifle. AR-15’s do not possess that capability, and were specifically designed for that purpose. They do nothing functionally different than any other semi automatic rifle. They just look like a “military rifle.” I can paint a piece of shit stock Ford Taurus, slap sponsor stickers on, and Mount a big spoiler, but that doesn’t mean it’s a Formula 1 race car, now is it?
2nd is meant for us to have the most basic gear the military would sport. So a basic semi-auto pistol and rifle is good. It's so we can help fight bad guys should they invade (like Ukraine, they're literally begging us for guns). It is a fact that governments that want more power want to disarm you. The Bill of Rights was put in the Constitution by States that really wanted to be independent, not Federal, as they had just got done fighting a tyrannical government (that had, by the way, tried to disarm the Colonies). You're more than welcome to turn in your rifle. Law abiding citizens can continue to safely own and operate their weapons.
It's sad because back in the early Jon Stewart days (pre-2005-ish), _The Daily Show_ was actually the most credible source for news according to both surveys _and_ fact-checking sites and groups. Better than CNN, FOX, MSNBC, ABC, and so on. Sure, they were left-leaning, but they got their facts right much more often than anyone else. They seem to have gone downhill right around the time _The Colbert Report_ became a thing, and REALLY went downhill after Stewart left.

They don’t realize how blessed we are to have the 2nd amendment to the people that are against the ar15 I have a story that might change your perspective on that style of rifle, My cousin came from Mexico to escape the dangers of cartel terrorizing the small town my family lives on. To bond with him I took him out to see places on our way back I decided to go to bass pro shop to pick up some fishing gear so I could take him fishing. As I got my fishing gear we head up stairs to get some ammo because I was low on a certain caliber as he approaches the firearms section and he sees people buying firearms In Spanish he says que chulada es esto” (look at the beauty of this place) I said it’s pretty cool huh in Spanish. I told him you want to hold some firearms he smiled and said yes. When we were next in line I told the guy behind the counter that my cousin was new to the country and he’s never held modern style rifles and if it was ok if he could hold them and check them out the man said yes My cousin pointed to the ar15 and said if he could see that rifle as the employee hands him the rifle he smiled and got very serious shortly after and just stared at it as he’s looking at the rifle he says “if these rifles were legal to the people in Mexico we would have a chance to fight back against those devils (cartels) and live in peace . When I heard that it made me realize how blessed we are to have the 2nd amendment .
I am frequently drawn to the story of that one Mexican farmer/ranchero, who held off dozens of cartel sicarios by himself. The people of Mexico need to rise up against the cartels, and I guarantee you if they did, they’d get the same support Ukraine is getting against the Russians
"It's impossible to stop it.", he exclaimed. The source of "it" is rooted in a protected right that is enshrined within the Bill of Rights and presents in the form of the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. This same document outlines the elements necessary for making an amendment, beit an additition or a removal to or from the document. It is therefore not "impossible". It is something that can be achieved. On the epidemiological scale of likely, possible, probable, actually doing so is less than likely. The reason that the outcome is less than likely to occur is that "it" is not the problem.
if these liberal cretins were around back in the day, they would have banned fire, and civilization would have gone extinct before it ever became something
The source of school shootings isn't rooted in gun ownership or the second amendment, it's rooted in mental illness and a broken criminal justice system.
yeah funny how they never try to amend or remove the Second Amendment the only way that it was ever intended to be done, instead they resort to these underhanded (though effective) tactics of undermining it maybe because they know gun control isn't nearly as popular as they constantly claim it to be...
To be honest, easiest and fairest form of gun control: education. And from there start tackling issues that causes people these problems. Gun control is quite plainly something someone would use to cover the problems that people actually suffer from.
The NRA has been against actually requiring any real TRAINING course for using guns since the late 90's. Because they view such education requirements as gun control. If we actually REQUIRED training for guns the way we require training for driver's licenses and pharmaceuticals, maybe we wouldn't have so many irresponsible gun owners shooting people on accident.
It sucks that they will look the other way when it comes to mental health the true rot of America's problem. But i guess having people be a slave to pills because they were told it will make them better as long as they take it, is way more important.
They dont want ppl to be educated, the fallacy of gun control helping society would evaporate immediately & there would be no chance to disarm the last free ppl in the world & flip the switch. You cant flip the switch on every country besides the US bc the ppl on the fence & ppl who say "that would never happen here" will be broken out of their mind control once you do.
@@oceanwaves83 That is a strawman argument. He never said most gun owners would ban AR-15s. He said most gun owners want laws to change to improve gun safety, like closing the loophole that allows citizens with mental health problems to buy guns, or having consistent background checks that prevent a violent felon in one state from buying a gun in another state.
If your goal is protection, your focus should be on increased protection. There is no discussion about protecting people. The discussion Is focused on making people more helpless.

This is the best comment on this post. Thank you!!!!!!
Is the same way in Mexico. Only criminals have guns and if they enter your home and rape your children you’re not allowed to kill these bastards. Here here!
To be fair everyones allowed their opinion. His just happens to suck.
He’s comparing a privilege with driving to a right of self protection!
Colion is a a great spokesman for our 2A Rights!

@@debrabey4955 the idea behind background checks is that we have people in our society who are dangerous to others, and that we know who they are. I agree with you, life is not a dress rehearsal.
@@AJ-nh8ik You're right in part, we have 'raised' a softer generation, but I see it more so as the internet; social media etc that has done the raising.
Wait. What? You mean Hogan s Heroes was not accurate?
The daily show is real news. But it's heavily filtered through the host. Like Trevor will explain whatever the news of the day is, then give his take on it. But it is real news.
@@jgaines9248 Trevor has a script & a teleprompter...He's an ACTOR from South Africa...It's not his take on things... it's a pre-approved opinion... from a script.
🤣🤣🤣👍
Wish we had more people fight for our gun rights here in Australia, everyone just lays down and takes the beating
Don't be like that
Do you Aussies not have the vote? Can you not vote your oppressors out? Or do you like being beaten by the police for not wearing your useless Covid mask?
Hey yo d bag mexicans have gun rights . Do a simple googling dawg.
Wow, you should keep, telling people that story, maybe they will get it
This needs more comments
I am frequently drawn to the story of that one Mexican farmer/ranchero, who held off dozens of cartel sicarios by himself. The people of Mexico need to rise up against the cartels, and I guarantee you if they did, they’d get the same support Ukraine is getting against the Russians
@@freakingabagool3510 oh yeah that man an is a legend he held them off with a 22. Sadly those cowards had to use a gernade to take him out.
Thanks for your response! He's a piece of, well of something special.
This needs to be shared everywhere.
Damn well spoken.
yeah funny how they never try to amend or remove the Second Amendment the only way that it was ever intended to be done, instead they resort to these underhanded (though effective) tactics of undermining it
maybe because they know gun control isn't nearly as popular as they constantly claim it to be...
To be honest, easiest and fairest form of gun control: education. And from there start tackling issues that causes people these problems. Gun control is quite plainly something someone would use to cover the problems that people actually suffer from.
Thank you I’ve been saying this education on guns is important
The NRA has been against actually requiring any real TRAINING course for using guns since the late 90's. Because they view such education requirements as gun control. If we actually REQUIRED training for guns the way we require training for driver's licenses and pharmaceuticals, maybe we wouldn't have so many irresponsible gun owners shooting people on accident.
It sucks that they will look the other way when it comes to mental health the true rot of America's problem. But i guess having people be a slave to pills because they were told it will make them better as long as they take it, is way more important.
@@Flako92 quite an ugly truth. Pills make money, mental health and educational services costs money. I find it to be that simple
I loved it. Thanks Colion. Nicely done.
The 2nd Amendment is also a guaranteed right, put in the Constitution telling the Government we have this right, so respect it.
It’s also a human right

@@bliznik for civilians
@@knightblade0188 That is not in the constitution.
@@bliznik it is
"Most car enthusiasts agree, we should ban certain types of cars"
-Trevor Noah
Trevor this aint even your country f outtahere
We do ban certain types of cars. There are many cars, engines, and types of fuel that are banned in the United States.
Or maybe we should ban teenage boys. The firearm couldn't do any damage without the teenager. Was it the firearm or the teenage boy?
@@bliznik You missed the point completely. How many car enthusiasts WANT certain cars to be banned?
@@oceanwaves83 That is a strawman argument. He never said most gun owners would ban AR-15s. He said most gun owners want laws to change to improve gun safety, like closing the loophole that allows citizens with mental health problems to buy guns, or having consistent background checks that prevent a violent felon in one state from buying a gun in another state.
If your goal is protection, your focus should be on increased protection. There is no discussion about protecting people. The discussion Is focused on making people more helpless.
Getting real sick of people from other countries living in America criticizing how Americans live!!! Also getting sick of these un-challenged forums. These talk show host that get to spew their opinions and lies without anyone responding back! And if they do get someone, they find the most ignorant uneducated person they can find to make their point!!
People born with a silver spoon in their mouth simply don’t care about our constitution. The rest of us who had to whittle their spoon from a tree branch understand reality and the importance of protecting what we’ve worked so hard for. Be it our lives, our families, possessions, and our freedom (constitution).
Cheers Colion.
as much as i agree, trevor noah was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he did become a political puppet though
He was not born into wealth…but he sure adopted their talking points once he got a taste of the “high life”
Masterful response as usual. Thank you for exposing the nonsense for what it is Colion.
Thank you for being our voice buddy, so sad that our puppets we call politicians are taking away our only way to defend ourselves.
It's sickening hearing him say that everything and every issue needs laws. That's the problem today, to many laws.
