I remember falling through a 1 story rafter filled with Asbestos Fluff, ah what a great day to come through a ceiling and filling up the hall with Asbestos dust. Oh well, not my fault, someone moved the Plywood we were walking on. #LifeAsAnAsbestosAbatementWorker
@nerfinator03 Breathing in large amounts of asbestos for long periods of time, ( i.e. ) working with it practically everyday in large amounts creates an unhealthy buildup in the lungs and respiratory system, there is no way to live an "asbestos free" life, many things we still use contains it, the best way to minimize exposure, do not disturb it or touch friable asbestos, which will release the fibers into the air
I’ve got question guys. The old school in our town were built with asbestos roof. Someone set it on fire. Everyone checked that in my town so do I. I was 60 meters and 30 minutes close to that burning building. Should I worry?
Your probably fine, if you were out side and that far away. Besides, most people who die from asbestos exspousure worked with it for a long time, and even then its not a guarentee that you'll get sick.
+EvilShredder Half filled*. Half way through the consturction of one of the towers they switched over to a safer compound. However given asbestos amazing heat and fire resistance, some question if the tower was fully filled with asbestos if the fire would have damaged the trade centers as much.
Excruciating pain, using the suit you may likely cough or itch a bit, but if you don't expose yourself to friable asbestos daily, it could take years for anything to occur to your breathing if at all. My Great Grandfather installed furnaces to heat hones, worked with asbestos regularly, on top of this, he smoked a pipe heavily in his younger years, he lived 93 years. Everyone has different tolerances, caution and taking precautions when working with or around hazardous materials is essential
1956: a suit made of asbestos
2022: a suit to protect form asbestos
He tolerated the heat asbestos he could.

Ya but what about his lungs?
The one dislike was from the guy who wore the suit...
Yeah he probably has asbestosis now

@@PrimeHiFi Statistically, he was most likely unaffected
I like how they actually used someone to test this
Health and safety regulations? Is that some kind of communist propaganda?
It was a different, bolder time 😂
They actually knew about the dangers since the 30s
There's no way this would be the first time they did this.

Did you make Finn Detrolio clean that up?
Homie just chilling on a flaming chair! 😂
Fantastic Material... But very Dangerous :(
I saw a Meccano magazine in 1942 which called the asbestos suit a miracle suit lol
Man, the comments here are ancient. A few of you were likely children when you posted, and are now adults.

All lungs were harmed in the making of this show..
Kind of sad that the material is so dangerous and tries to kill you, because otherwise it would have been such a great material for everyone
Was wearing this suit hot to wear?
huddah huddah huh! :D
1/8 the heat of the sun?
he would probably be vaporised
They most likely mean 1/8th of the surface temperature of the sun which is around 700°C.
Some suit can withstand 5k degrees
@REVERENDJOSHGODDERS
I work with it every day... as an asbestos abatement worker. Full face respirator and P100s for me, please.
Only use the best GP-5 gas masks with original filters right? Make sure to also bang it up to get the purifying dust™ working!
i work in it too. wonder if ill get asbestosis

I don’t think so

And the World Trade Centers were filled with this stuff...

And they removed thousands of tons of it back in the 80s. Perhaps if they hadnt people would have had an extra 30 mins to get outI
cool
I'd rather let the fire kill me that the asbestos.
I highly doubt that! If there was a forest fire coming you would unbag that garment and put it on.
