I really appreciate the video., as a volunteer coach that never played soccer it was very useful! A few suggestions though, as it is for beginners - Position labels (ST, RD, LD, etc) would have been easier to follow around the field than just the Xs and Os. Maybe slow it all down a bit so that it is easier for children to follow. Thanks for the video though!

Wow, you are one hundred percent spot on. I will consider adding the labels on future videos that are meant for youth coaches/players. Thanks for your input.

I’m a volunteer coach for a U9 travel team. Just wanted to get advice on how to help the players understand their role in their position and stay disciplined on what’s expected in their role? We had our very first game. This team is brand new and this was their first time playing together as a team.
Our first half they followed instructions fairly well. We were down 4 and after having to shout(unfortunately) to remain composed and remember their positions we came back into the game 4-4. Once halftime finished they all began doing what they wanted again and we got blown out 11-4.
Very proud of them, but was wondering WHAT can help them stay focused? I literally just came home after buying a whiteboard to explain but with them being 8yrs old and their attention span being very short I don’t want to confused them or bore them.
