The attempted strangulation of the old man while the "Rivingtons" blast out "The Bird's the Word" is epic.
I watched this with my brother Mark when we were little kids, and he would cover both our faces with his blanket during the scary parts, what a sweet kid he was!!

Is it just me or does this movie need a lot more Crawling Hand?
I just knew this had to be the show I watched with my granny when I was 4 years old. She was trying to scare me and it did a little, but as long as I got to spend time with granny it was worth it. She was an ornery one LOL, but so much fun.
Great seeing Nick Barkley in a cult classic. I loved Big Valley as a kid. Have dark good looks will travel, lol.

Rod Lauren is so pathetic as he channels his 'best' "James Dean" angst. This flick would have been a great one to bring your squeeze to the drive-in ~ no distractions from the movie!

Peter Breck stars in this. He was the oldest son in the TV series "The Big Valley" a few years after this came out. He was also in an episode of "The Outer Limits" the same years as this movie (1963).

A forerunner to 2001 which came out 5 years later. Pretty sure it borrowed a lot of the space special effects people from Crawling Hand.

Enjoyable "bad" movie. Great job by the CCC cultists riffing this one. It was a blast! It should have been relased as a dark comedy rather than sci-fi. But it works for me. 2.5 STARS all night long or until the mascara budget runs out.

True, it's a low budget B picture, but it works. LIked the cast; all the roles were filled well. Liked the early explanation as to what happened to the astronaut. The subsequent infection of the young man was a useful twist. The Crawling Hand was spooky enough but lacked enough size and locomotion to be a realistic, escalating threat. Jumping to the young man gave the thing a full body to work with. There were a few loose ends, such as why only the young man and not the other victim/contacts. The same with the cats. Better than average script.
I was a little kid when I saw this. Mom told me not to. Said I would have nightmares. Of course, I disagreed. So when I had a nightmare later that night and called out for her, she was fit to murder. Lol

1:53 behind actor is the IBM punch pard station like one I used to use in 1970s.. one command per punch card, and they back up to be a full program 4.5 inches long of punched cards very eary computer cycles.
I remember the punch cards. Delayed deedback to know if your program worked or not ...

When I saw this movie as a kid of 12, I was not allowed to watch TV at night , so I used to turn the TV on with the Sound off! Then clime up the tree outside into the cubby house, then tune my radio to the FM band & listen to the sound on that , sitting in the dark after 12 at night , it was traumatic to say the least, so I haven’t seen this movie since then ! I didn’t remember the Skipper being in it ! But it was not exactly scary anymore 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh lord. Saw this one time like 50 years ago. One of two moves that scared the bejesus out of me, other one was the movie where scientists fiancé loses her head in a car accident and he keeps it alive. My sister got one of those makeup barbie doll heads shortly after for Xmas, wake up seeing that thing on the dresser, omg hated my sister for it.
