Fun fact: in Dutch a seal is being called "zeehond". Literal translated it means "sea dog". Probably because they bark.... gotta take a look into the origins of the word.
I remember that sailors (we have been a seafarer nation for many centuries...) called them "zeehond", but if they had another name before then... 🤷🏻♀️. I don't know.
Seals are mainly along our north coast. We even have a seals rescue center in Pieterburen (look that one up), where they restore lost sealbabies and weak, sick seals back to healthy ones who can go back into the wild, once they've fully recovered or grown old and strong enough to survive. Even teach the babies how to catch fish... it's an amazing place: Zeehondencrèche in Pieterburen....

I've been following for just over a year now, and I've loved every moment. Even after Sherpa's gone to a peaceful place, I miss him, but you taught me a lot about huskies and their signs so I can help my own. I can only agree with you, Sherpy's picture is magnificent and the location chosen is wonderful.
It's been a long time since we've seen Jamie relaxing and chilling in bigred and I'm sure Sherps was definitely there too.
The environment and the cliffs are so wonderful. The sound of the waves, the sound of the wind, everything is just perfect together. 🥰

After the great hike, a little refreshment in Bigred and the time is enjoyed.

Lovely scenery today. And we thank Sherpa for the "sea dogs" just being cool. Thank you Jamie for sharing with us. Kentucky USA.
Even though you can't see him, Sherpa walks with you. When my beautiful little Jack Russell passed, she continued to walk down the hallway by my side. I could hear the 'click, click, click' of her claws on the floor. It was like she was saying 'I haven't left you. I'm right here." Amazing experience. When I go for wander, I talk to each of my dogs who passed. They know.
Jamie, I love your ability to simply sit in silence and bask in the wonder of this glorious world we've been given to live in :) Sitting in stillness somewhere outdoors is one of my favorite pastimes as well. Watching birds at my feeders, watching my flowers grow...great joy in small ways. Thank you so much for taking us along on your wander today. Sitting here on my couch, I feel as if we just had a lovely day together in one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Sherpa's presence was strong with us today ❤ Hope you feel the love we're all sending :)

He had lots and lots of good times. You gave him the best wanders a dog could ever have. He was as lucky to have you as you were to have him. Don't forget to whisper a message to the butterflies so they can fly up to heaven and deliver it. Those seals were so cute. The van looked so sweet on the top of the hill. You had a lovely day. Wow! How this 62 year old misses the amazing holidays to Cornwall that we used to have in the 60s when I was small. My parents ,aunts and uncles and cousins used to go with us to St Agnes on the North Cornish coast, renting a cottage on the cliff edge above the bay. Seeing those coastal paths on the cliff edges and that scenery, including the seals, takes me back with such fond memories. We used to visit the seal sanctuary opposite Davy Jones Locker at the top of the beach at St Agnes, long gone now I realise. We lost dad in April aged 94 and mum has dementia so her recollection of those hols is fading. I hope to move to Cornwall one day as it is, in my humble opinion, the most beautiful corner of this isle. Glad to see you out and about Jamie and I am sure Sherpa is beside you still, sniffing the grass and picking up little spirit sticks, tail wagging madly.

Nice place you went to. I' m not sure I would have walked all the paths. I have vertigo. So brave of you to go out on your own, it must be really hard. Sherpa wasn't able to go anymore on these walks but would have loved them. I kept waiting for him to pop up or give a comment💙. Glad you let us share your new adventures. 💙

Hi Jamie not watched yet spent yesterday and today up the hospital I hurt myself swimming I landed to hard in the water and I’ve hurt my muscles in my chest and they are a bit concerned about a clot on my lung had a ct scan today will get the results tomorrow fingers crossed it’ll be all clear you take care 🐶

Cause he also remembers the wonderful times with you (basically every day; he was happiest with you).
