I just heard on NPR radio a few days ago that reading of mammogram going to use AI programs and charge extra for this feature vs doc reading it. Seems unfair to me but.....changes happen. I heard also the AI can convert words on documentation to adverse comments....coders still required to ensure it makes sense so can code. I have heard that some medical exam rooms have recordings of patients and doc discussion then auto type it up. I hope provider is reading it to ensure it is correct but......probably rely on medical coders to ensure dx codes and CPT selected
I heard AI programming is good for group medications for certain diseases if patient allergic give another med on list. I do think AI will be used by insurance payers to help them better to decline reimbursements. Also how is AI using similar medical abbreviations ?
