I will definitely have to buy some white tiny rocks and some black river rocks, as you did 😊! I am eager to get started in my yard 😂!! But I can't right now because it's snowing here in Dayton Ohio, and it's April 😂😂!! I'm new to your channel, I am glad that I found your video today !! Your FLOWERS 💐 are beautiful!😊🙏♥️ I am a 74 year old lady, and I love working in my yard 😂 it calming to me especially when everything turns out Beautiful!! God Blessings! 🙏 GM. Dayton, Ohio

    You have solved the problem by converting a floating solar fountain into a stationary pump...if you still want a "floating solar fountain" but it spills the water out because it goes to the sides, all you need to do is to insert clear plastic straws (3 or 4, equally spaced) into the foam sides of the float...you can also use wooden skewers but the clear straws are less visible, especially if you insert them low on the foam & slightly tilted downward, they will act as a buffer...if you insert them full length (about 8"-10") that will center the float & keep it from going to the side...you can also cut back the straws if your planter is smaller

      Do you have problems with mosquito due to your water feature?

    • @jazzybutterflygarden
      @jazzybutterflygarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Female mosquitoes require still water to lay their eggs. Keep your water circulating with your solar pump. The solar pump will keep the water in motion, but if not managed properly, they can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

    Brilliant! I've done my share of tweaks with this type of fountain, so I'd like to share in case they can be helpful to others. 1) Take a soldering iron and make the sprayer holes bigger. The spray will stay lower. 2) glue or tape wire, wooden skewers, or sturdy straws underneath the floating fountain so they extend to almost the width of your water reservoir, this will create "bumpers" that will keep the fountain from coming too close to the edge 3) tie the fountain with a short length of fishing wire wrapped around a rock or brick to function as an anchor 4) forgo the sprayer tips altogether and opt for a short piece of tubing or fat straw

    I used your technique on a stationary solar fountain. I Love it. I viewed every technique but yours worked the best with fewer materials. HD had river rock on sale for 6.00 per bag. I used 2 bags and 2 empty gallon milk cartons surrounding the small pot in the middle. I used a plastic top with holes from a wide toped Tupperware on top of the small pot. I did drill 2 large holes in each side of the small pot in-between the gallon jugs so water would drain in around the pump. Thank you for your video....:)
