- After selling my Leica M6 a few months ago, I knew I wanted to have a handy 35mm for easy travel photos and portability. Having done research, I chose the Bessa R2M to be my new trusty rangefinder. This camera over-delivers in so many areas!

I have the 35mm skopar as well. I love it - compact and sharp, looks great with the vented hood.
Would love to try one of the bessas one day. Shooting the lens on an M6 for now.
So excited to see you guys putting up a new video!! Looking forward to the next one. Keep up the great work.
I've been using a Voigtlander Lens (Nokton Classic) for a while and I really like it. Their products are well made! Nice video as always.
Right on man . I just picked up a R3A and LOVE it!
damn , really love the shots!! keep it up!!
Great video, great quality, great host!
Nice Camera! almost got a Bessa R3M a few years back but kept reading about some issues so I didnt pull the trigger.
Wonderfull video again! love your reviews.video;s so much! still can't believe you only got 2,8k followers :( Keep up those awesome videos!
I was in a similar situation. Had a Bessa R2A with Zeiss glass and felt I didn't need that expensive of a 35mm setup. So I am in the process of selling that kit and I bought a Minolta CLE to replace it. Cheaper, more compact. Awesome for everyday shooting. Bessas are awesome though, I loved mine.
Just bought the r3a and look forward to shooting with it!
Great video! Cheers from a fellow Southerner that knows the traveling and cameras game well.
i have got a r4a - love this camera!
I think the 35mm Skopar is one of the most underrated M mount lenses out there. Just got hold of one for the second time after using `Leica & Zeiss 35mm lenses for the past 7 0r 8 years and I’m wondering why I ever sold my first Skopar. Smallest, lightest 35mm out there and many compare it to the Summicron mkIV pre ASPH for it’s image making qualities. Like you say though, I doubt most people would notice any real differences in spending 5 times the amount of money a Skopar costs for a Leica lens. Been there, done that and happily back with the Voigtlander.
Awesome shots!! What film stop were you shooting on and were those shots at box speed? Love the pastel colors!
mainly been shooting my slr (minolta srt101x) but picked up a yashica minister d that im exited to try out, its kind of the poor mans bessa/leica ;)
I'm looking for a second (higher end) rangefinder next to current Leica CL. Just checked the Ebay and Bessa R2M is almost the same price as Leica M6 ( ca 200eur difference). R2A is cheaper, but I'd like to have a purely mechanical one. 200eur isn't worth that saving or?
What film is that, I like it
Got a Bess R3m , R4m and a Leica M6ttl. De M6ttl oozes quality, but the Besss see much more action!
Hey Andrew I think that is some solid logic about shooting in the south and medium format cameras. It does raise the question though: I know you like the Pentax 67, and have shot the mamiya 7 and RB in some other videos, but is there a medium format system that you'd still really like to try?
Yeah! Perhaps a Makina or a Contax 645!
@@LocalAnalog Yeah I guess the dream would be to carry a makina like a leica and get the same kind of daily snapshots just with monster 6x7 negs. And a contax 645 ...well thats just about as far as film camera evolution made it!
I have to choose between Leica M2 and Bessa R3m ... I completely don't know which one is better choice, good classic Leica or light meter built-in
Tough choice! Love both.
Local Analog yess.... and I have only 24h for decision 😩
@@oliviamarkowski8159 I would choose the one in the best shape. The Leica will retain its value for a long long time. :)
What plastic?
not as cheap as i remember. didn't know they were nolonger in production.
1st comment let’s go!
Sorry to be the one to tell you, but...you'll buy a Leica M again at some point. Everybody I know that sold a Leica M ended up buying one again after a few years. Because of the feel of it. Yeah, the Bessa does the same things and just as well, but it isn't as enjoyable as a Leica M. There's just nothing quite like it.
I had a Bessa R2M and I own a Leica M6. I'd not trade the M6, it just feels too good and suits my needs too well.
*if u have a little bit of money to spend on it*
meh, not so little:(
Bessa - not -Baysa
