I recommend making a single longer film that could become the gold standard for the TA Trail. What you did on the PCT was magnificent, but creators are often their best when they are telling stories rooted in their native geography. So many of the great works of literature are set in the nurturing environment of the author's youth. Who knows maybe you could then do a film festival gig or sell the film online like Darwin did for the Arizona Trail. Best regards young lady...you have the soul of a poet and the heart of a lion.
We've missed you, your spirit, and your art for capturing and sharing moments. Don't fret over trying to share Te Araroa over TH-cam. You continue to grow and so should the way you share your experiences and gifts with others. All my best as you take that next incredible step.
One big film, or a you tube series,.. hmmm,.. I enjoyed how you did the PCT. Both! A big documentary and a series. I love how you did the documentary of your hike,.. but I also loved how you broke out your PCT hike into a series.
Congrats on the McCain Steak Fries sponsorship! That was really interesting to hear your comparison of the PCT and TA in terms of going through towns. I'm sure whatever you chose to make video wise for the TA will be compelling viewing. All the best.
@@louiselafond1443 Haha, yes! I spent 3 months in NZ in 2014 and had a good chuckle when I first saw McCain fries in a local supermarket. GO, New Brunswick!

Myself and my wife just simply adore you x I have the same laptop x My wife and I have decided to have a crack at the te araroa starting this December, Northbound. We will be flying in from Melbourne and starting in bluff. Weve made an uneducated decision to dodge the covid crowds from Aus and start early, but, given ourselves a lot of time for delays etc. I am a paramedic by profession and wil be carrying all the necessary jingles to annoy my friends in search and rescue, should it come to that. I am really excited to see more of my neighbours backyard without sounding like an uninhibited voyeur. Thank you for all your inspiration and passion in letting others see what is out there xxx
Good to see you back! Yes I would like to see the content of tou teaching for a few weeks on the "small island". Can't wait to see your video(s) of the adventure you just had as well!
My vote is for you to do another TH-cam series, like what you did with your PCT videos - I absolutely love those and I rewatch them all the time when I miss being on the trail myself. But no matter how you do it, I promise I will watch! Keep up the great work!
It makes me so happy to see you and your very intimate style of shooting videos again! During the PCT-series I was really looking forward to every single episode, and the journey made me very happy. I'm sure it will be the same for Te Araroa, no matter the format!
Yours is one of those channels I would wait around for, even if it were a year or more, because I know the resulting films will be good. As to your plans, take your time and do what feels right -- but I hope that involves continuing to work and grow as a filmmaker.

Don’t feel guilty for posting! I haven’t thru hiked (yet!) and only camped once in my life before 2020. Watching people’s thru hike vlogs and learning about/acquiring gear and going on a few weekend trips has been my escape through it all. Whether you go short video series or cinematic long film/doco, I know the result will be marvellous. Chur from Jakarta
Great to see you back! Congrats on finishing the TA! Really looking forward to seeing your upcoming TA video(s) (my two cents are that I'd prefer it in an episodic format, it makes it easier to digest on yt and would probably give some more room to play around with tone section to section vs. one continuous work. I liked how each of your PCT episodes felt like their own vignettes contributing to a full journey.) Do what you feel most inspired to do though, move at your own pace on this.
Hi Im hiking the PCT, currently Shasta. Lots of fires NorthCal and no snow in Sierras. Very different from your hike. Im English but lived Asia most my life. Huge fan of yours and so thrilled you hiked TA and looking forward to the videos when you have a chance. Best wishes

So happy to see that you made it through this adventure. Best of luck with whatever you decided when it comes to job choices.
whatever you decide in sharing your journey on te araroa, i want you to understand just how much inspiration you've given the world with a simple 15 minute video. seeing such majestic landscapes (even briefly) while listening to the words of someone who truly cherishes their home, this planet, and each step they take upon it just opens an entirely new perspective on how one moves in this lifetime. thank you for sharing your experiences, thank you for opening your world to those of us who many not ever see NZ, and thank you for being you
