I wonder how many people pass up the opportunity of knowing Jesus due to a lack of understanding.
"I haven't read the entire Bible." "I can't explain suffering in the world." "I'm too far gone, Christ will never accept me..."
The list goes on.
But what kind of infinite God could be fully explained (Isaiah 55:8-9, Romans 11:33-34)?
I think that's why Jesus never instructs us to strive for more knowledge to be able to follow Him. The road to deeper intimacy with Him does not go up, it goes down.
The picture of a child embraces humility and remains moldable. There is authentic curiosity unscathed by knowledge and pride.
There is a lesson to be learned from Matthew 18 that applies to anyone looking to affirm the truth of Jesus Christ.
To know Christ is not to make sense of everything in the world. It is to trust Him even when nothing else makes sense.
