A simple long wallet.
This video is a little more detailed as it is supposed to give people an idea on how to craft one of those.
It was quite a bit of work, as I wanted to show how it´s done and at the same time I wanted to keep the artistic path that I have choosen in my previous videos. I hope that I succeeded :-).
Materials:
-vegetable tanned calf skin about 1mm thick
-Tiger thread
-Fiebings pro oil dye (Mahogany)
-Carnauba creme
-Beeswax

Hey, what are you using at 2.44 ? Is that wax ? Or some sort of other smooth finisher ? All I have access to is is hard solid beeswax but it doesn't really do such a great job.

+Manuel De Leon You can choose whatever you want, it is matter of preference rather than a method/rule.
Or do you mean the length of the thread?
cool, I was wondering if I needed to buy different thread for leather that is 2mm vs. leather that is 4 or 6 mm. Thanks for the reply.
What do you call that rotating sanding tool you use for the edges?
It was a burnisher made by "JustWood".

Hi!!! I ordered a custom long wallet for my husband but its very flimsy:/ is there anything i can do to make it sturdy/firm?
Where did you order it? They might be able to help you better than I can, as they know what leather was used.
But there is something called leather stiffener, but I'm not sure how it is used and on what kinds of leather it works.
Otherwise there isn't much you can do... There is the possibility to "bake" the leather, by soaking it in water and leaving it in an oven (with 50 degrees Celsius) until it is dry.
But I wouldn't recommend it, since you have already a finished item.

Make sure, I purchased this pattern and it's absolutely no well done, I know how to make patterns and I know, the measurements are too small and he is not in the market for too long.

Amazing work! Are you using 1.2mm latigo leather or pre dye veg tan leather ?
It´s veg tan and I dyed it myself.

I was just curious because its a great video and a good looking pattern. Been searching for patterns and tutorials and good ones are hard to find, and a lot of the tutorials suck. Yours is amazing!
I actually haven't sold that many, yet. I have never bought patterns for myself, so I can't tell the quality of others, but I'm sure that for some people my pattern sucks ;-).
