Real veggies are supposed to be crispy. Everyone is different but my mother never over cooked her veggies. When I was married to my West African husband he also cooked his veggies crisp. I love my veggies with a slight crisp.

We cook our vegetables a long time for the broth like greens and beans the pot liquor is the best because we cook them so long and they good. Now I stir fry my veggies or steam them but i still cook me a good old pot of mixed vegetable soup. I learned how to cook by watching my family cook and i would make it myself.

Well..... We currently are stationed in Louisiana and in Krotz Springs, Louisiana there is a Very popular restaurant named Billy's Diner and they do Boudin and it has pepper jack cheese in it. They also sell crackling and so much more!! It's an 1 hr. ride from where we are in Louisiana and we take that ride at least 1 a month. BOMMMMMB!!
