    That foam for foam box covering of cortex...I believe it's Eva foam just an case anyone needs to try to find it...u can get a roll of it at .5 inches thick by 12 foot x 2 foot at hobby lobby...I searched high and low to find that super dense lightweight foam before

    I have had a Jeti radio now for a few years. Best radio hands down IMO. In my big really expensive models, I also use the 900mhz backup. Just curious why I don't see that in your builds? I've never had an issue with my smaller planes without the 900, but I like all the redundancy I can get.

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Our signals aren’t packed here so never really need it. That of course is probably the reason to use it. Cheep insurance.

    Super clean as usual. I also realize watching that I tend to overthink stuff in my builds.

    Awesome build! Im a beginner in gas engine planes and your builds are inspiring for me. Can you tell me 2 things: 1st how do you secure cables and electronic inside fuselage? Some velcro?
    What do you use to „goop” all connectors on final assembly? Thank you!

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching! Lots of options. 1. if they can screw down then screw them down. 2. Recievers, 3d printed mount or industrial velcro. 3. for cables and such. 3d printed mounts (check my website) and sometimes tape and glue in place with CA.
      For final step on assembly the GOOP all connectors is exactly that. Goop is a product. They have lots of types but they are all the same product. Marine goop, plumbers goop, general goop. Same product. There is also E6000. Same product but slightly thinner.

    • @PiotrGulczi
      @PiotrGulczi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thelightersideofrc I live in Poland so thats why I couldnt find what goop really means. Thanks !

    Great video by the way. Question. At 42:02 you show your jet on a stand that looks great for transportation. Can you do a short video on that stand.

    Hi Jonathan,
    At 9:11 you mentioned that the second receiver is setup as a clone. Why do you run the receivers in clone mode and not Dual Path? Is there a specific reason?
    Regards

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Charl. Reason 1. I like to let others fly and buddy box my aircraft. Especially newbies that haven't flown a turbine before. The clone setup allows easy buddy boxing. Reason 2 that many don't agree with. Better Signal/strength but that's arguable. Dual path is totally fine.

  • @kindnuguz
    @kindnuguz ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'll be honest, I keep searching through all these RC flyer channels and I'm only impressed with the electric motors.
    Turbine just seems so loud and many other negatives for me.
    I guess it's the same as Nitro vs LiPo in the RC car racing scene.
    I want to see these large 1/4 or what ever size they are with electric. I know it's possible as Remy has been doing it but he's like the ONLY youtuber I can find doing large scale electric.
    Everyone else is like "me man and like loud turbine" (joking but I hope you get my point) it's the same thing with combustion engines in cars lol

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get it. Ever been around a turbine in person? The sound, smell and experience is incredible

    I love that tank mount system and the whole fuselage interior...lots of room for a super clean easily reachable for maintenance layout the kinetic is my favorite jet only second to the havoc from ea.....the only thing I am not a fan of on kinetix is the super low landing gear

    Just a quick question... How much suction does one of these jet motors have?

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A lot! When you throttle up they are sucking in an enormous amount of air!

  • @mmyshack

  • @Krash_fpv

    Dyed glass/wood or foam fused plate* not carbon lol carbon has that unmistakable sheen and glass is less likely to cause interference on decks like that
