You know those little Christmas villages Justin? The kind you put on your table? You should make one based on Route 66! With miniatures of all the unique gas stations and tourist traps along the route. Decorated for Christmas of course! And you can set it on top of a map of Route 66.
I have family in Ukiah and one of my favorite spots to stop is Montgomery Woods, a small patch of uncut redwood forest, huge 2000 yr old trees, amazing! Justin needs to stop there for amazing trees, especially the one that fell over and you can stand by the roots for a fun pic!
Love this video most of all your in my backyard now our family moved from Anaheim to Sonoma County in 1968 and we have vacation in the redwoods for years still here and loving it and by the way when you came Thur Petaluma you were about a mile from my house love your adventure
You should checkout the Cheatham grove in grizzly creek redwoods park. That's one of the last remaining groves where they filmed star wars. Its the speeder bike scene location on endor. Its impressive, most impressive
Yay, a road trip to Northern California!!! Seeing how you love Mark Twain so much, you should come to the Calaveras Frog Jump (yes the same one as his story) then hop over the river into Tuolumne county to see his old cabin THEN you could take Ally to the Calaveras Big Trees.
Epic trip guys..!!...been through the Chandelier Tree twice...only made it by a couple of inches...looking forward to seeing you on the Avenue of the Giants...one of the greatest pieces of highway in the world...!!!

I work at Wente Scout Reservation right outside of Willits during the summer that area is amazing and has all sorts of little fun things to do hidden everywhere.
When you guys do get to go on the skunk train pay attention to the summer camp you go through! I used to work there running the horse corral and we could ride the horses along the track during our breaks it was fantastic! Sometimes if the counselors waved at the skunk train they would stop for us and let us on so we could ride to Willits. Shouts out to camp Mendocino! It used to be a boys camp but now the boys and girls club of San Francisco runs it!

Just took that drive a few months ago; it's a lot different than it used to be when I was a kid. 101 used to go through the center of most of the towns up there, but now it bypasses most of them. Makes it a more "efficient" drive, but kind of lost some of the character I remember from the 70s and 80s.
