The Regera doesn't have a traditional multi-gear transmission but instead features a single-speed fixed-gear transmission, often called a direct drive.
At speeds below 30 mph, the wheel shaft electric motors mostly propel the car through the use of a hydraulic coupling that lets the ICE and the crankshaft mounted electric motor slip. In reverse, only the wheel shaft electric motors propel the car. Above 30 mph, the RPM of the crankshaft mounted electric motor and internal combustion engine are proportional to wheel speed through locking of the hydraulic coupling. (WIKIPEDIA)

This channel's good way of thinking is what encouraged me to start a youtube channel showing cars in video games the same style as autotop nl. Even the walk around at the start and the autobahn lanch. I wish the best for them.

I actually used that very sentence in my younger years as a neighbor complained that I was going WAY too fast on a residential street. And I really did only use 1st gear and it really wasn't too fast. But it sounded like it was fast AF :)

I'm going to guess most people had the same mindset when people made the change from horse and carriage to the Internal Combustion Engine. "It feels weird not hearing any hooves!" This incredible engine developed by koenigsegg is simply a direct effect of innovation. While it may sound peculiar upon hearing it for the 1st time, it will soon become a truly mesmerising noise that I hope you and many others will become accustomed to over time.

@@vasansrimattirumalapeddint8521 only those programmed to do so. Early CVT did not have fake shifts. 2014 Subaru CVT, for example, would hold a steady rpm under any load. They, and other manufactures, changed the CVT computer to simulate shifting because stupid consumers didn't like the feeling of no shifts.

The Regera accelerating sounds to me like how a speedboat accelerates. Brilliant. Fits perfectly for it being a hyper GT car.
The way the TC so quickly cut and fed power to avoid wheelspin on the launch within a split second is incredible. That must be one of the fastest acting systems out there.

Not this, Agera RS beat the Bugatti but this model looks be faster than Agera
@@TomekM4 It is faster. The Agera RS loses some time shifting despite being lighter. The best part is the Regera can run on E85 and Koenigsegg's configurator says it gives an extra 200 bhp.
Also the Regera has some insane braking power. It stops 1 sec faster and 65 m quicker than a Chiron and the Agera RS from 400.

I think it sounds really cool and badass. Especially from the interior! You hear it almost kick into hyperdrive as the rpm continues past 5000. That change in pitch and tone from deep and thunderous, to frantic and crazy after 5000rpm sounds really cool in my opinion. So does the constant turbo whistle!

Wow, it's genuinely amazing how fast the acceleration is all the way to 300 kmh - it's almost like the rate of acceleration never diminishes defying the laws of physics & wind resistance.
That's because the car can't use all the power at lower speeds because there's no traction.

Actually the gearing on this makes a lot more sense than you think. From 0-200 notice the engine revs to 5k and specifically limited to that. That’s the engine keeping the batteries charged. Over 200 it starts to rev higher as it takes over as the main powerplant.
In a sense then this car has one and a half gears: it starts only using the electric motors to move, then the v8 takes over and it’s like the power coming from a massive turbocharger when turbo lag ends, but on steroids.

@@kunalsakulkar926 That thing has single speed gearbox, it is in a "top gear" all the time. Low speed torque multiplication is done by a massive torque converter supported by a motor-generator combo.
@@kunalsakulkar926 Watch a video of the Chevrolet Powerglide transmission. Now add 3 electric motors and a lockup clutch that engages at 270 kmph. That's it.

Actually it kicked in the whole time. That was just the torque converter finally locking up into direct drive.
