How to stay safe during the Coronavirus:
1. Social distancing. Social distancing is the act of staying away from medium to large crowds, or tourism-filled areas. Staying away from restaurants, theatres and cinemas is strongly advised.
2. Look at a government website for advice on travelling. Over 100 countries have inhabitants that have been affected by the coronavirus. Cancelling trains, car trips and flights is strongly advised.
3. Individuals over the age of 70 have been advised to self isolate for 4 months. The Coronavirus is fatal in over 70s - underlying health conditions also worsen the effects of the virus.
4. Wash your hands regularly. Sing the song 'happy birthday' in your mind twice whilst washing your hands in order to prevent potential coronaviruses entering the body.
5. Panic buying. We all know what it is. Your mid-aged mum, or you yourself, running into a shop going on a buying spree. You are advised against this. There's no point. Think about it - the more items you buy, the more chance that someone who had the coronavirus without knowing touched it and before you know it, you've got it.
6. If any of your family members or you develop a persistent cough, you are advised to self-isolate for 2 weeks. This means no exiting your home. Do not call the emergency services if your symptoms are mild-medium. Only call them if you have bad symptoms.
7. Avoid smoking. Coronaviruses attack the lungs and they form a sticky glass-type mucus around the bronchi which restricts breathing and makes some people cough up blood.
