Got a little heated in this one, sorry if I threw a boss you enjoy under the bus! I mentioned not wanting them to add mid-level bosses briefly, these bosses are typically lacking mechanically due to them needing to be easier to be killed by lower leveled players. When you give these simpler easier bosses pets, pet hunters grind these bosses into the ground causing any rare drops they have to be near worthless (sarachnis). The content completely misses the demographic for who it is designed for which makes it poorly designed, it is very difficult to add a good mid-level boss. i think bryophyta was a really interesting boss, im sure for high lvl members it's a nothing enemy, but I think it's the only real enemy in f2p that has any mechanics at all, and i really appreciated it for that, esp while i was grinding moss giants to train my combat before i came to members. i think thru the lens of 'f2pers first introduction to bossing' she deserves some respect 😤 esp compared to obor
People grinding out pets at mid-level bosses doesn't diminish the value of them. I got my first steps into bossing at Grotesque Guardians and Sarachnis, its not about the pet drop or how much money you make, its about getting used to switching gear and prayer and movement on bosses that aren't going to 2 shot you randomly in budget gear. Just because the content isn't for you specifically as an end game player doesn't make it not valuable.

Corp is so bad yet some JMods apparently think that preserving its current garbage private server house pool meta at all costs is more important than trying to make it more interactive lmao. I wish the boss didn't exist frankly.
It's a piece of history. The fix would be making an alternate version for solos. Kind of funny how in this MMO soloing is preferred for everything though, just another problem in the game.
@@Megatron9000 It's not really a piece of history in OSRS. RS2 Corporeal Beast had lore surrounding it in the form of the Summer's End quest. It actually had a reason to exist. In this game, it's just a boss that exists in a random cave in the wilderness without any explanation or game history whatsoever, and yet it drops some of the most expensive items in the game. I'd be all for them actually giving Corp some kind of backstory like they did in RS2 even if I still think the boss is terribly designed, but as it stands, it's basically a really boring boss that just exists for the sake of putting Sigils in the game. It feels like a private server boss in more ways than one.

That makes it sacrosanct, so to speak- it should always be available as it was. It was also never meant to be soloed, yet ironman mode (specifically its janky loot mechanics) incentivized soloing, and the DWH made it viable (can I just pause to say how incredibly OP the DWH is?). Being that Corp is an original boss, changing its mechanics a bunch is out of the question. It's especially unnecessary since the power level of OSRS is above that of RS at the time Corp came out. Soloing Corp will get easier with new gear like Osmumten's Fang, but it's always been janky because it was never an intended way to approach the boss. That said, I'm not against changing some ironman loot mechanics to make grouping at Corp easier for them, or adding a solo only version with rebalanced stats and mechanics- as long as the original encounter remains available as it was.
@@Megatron9000 I think a main issue is that corp loot is so good, I think that because it was made so long ago even the developers didn’t have any idea what they were doing with balancing. Stuff like kq which is imo just an annoying boss (made pretty bearable with modern power creep and the partisan) dont cause issues the same way corp does because the loot is pretty useless. I agree that it would be weird to change corp mechanics at this point but some kind of solo mode with decreased loot chance would be nice (or maybe another related boss that drops the sigils).
Zulrah is where i send people to learn pvm before i teach them raids, its great for learning fast switches, positioning and memorising patterns. Def should be higher up than zalcano and grotesque haha
I know this is a year ago, but skitzio is glitched with arclight, if you kill the eyes or as you say crystals they spawn more often. If you kill them with ranged they do not spawn more often and have a cooldown.

Hard mode Xarpus has lower defence because regular mode has egregiously high defence and they didn't want to replicate that. If anything, them lowering hard mode defence is a testament to the fact that they wish they could lower regular mode defence (but they can't justifiably buff reg tob at this stage) more than anything. Xarpus is already the most difficult boss to solo in regular tob, and Xarpus is extremely difficult in hard mode solos. It's possibly the hardest and most expressive boss in the entire game, as painting mechanics, step unders and redemptions while keeping a constant 4t+5t cycle is incredibly difficult.
@@GnomonkeyRS they admitted that they didn't realise the p3 mechanics would end up functioning the way it did. If they had realised that and changed it to something actually difficult then realistically hard mode Xarpus would be overall harder than regular.
WHAT?!?! Tempeross over Wintertodt?!? Tempeross has nothing but fires to spice it up, whereas with Wintertodt you can try to maximize points by holding onto logs to fletch as you move, you can do some potion tech, and you can do the speedy relight -> fletch same tick combo. Also Sarachnis is S+ tier because it's one of the best stepping stones into PvM. Just like Grotesques, you can learn and develop PvM mechanics as you fight it over & over without being hyper punishing pushing people away and it really focuses on fundamentals. been doing melee vork recently after around 1500 dhcb method, melee def less sleeper if your gear isn't the best b/c can't tank melees & need to dance back and forth getting hits in. if gear is crazy like torva can tank and take better advantage of attack speed advantage
Can you make a guide on things to do to advance your account for people with not a lot of time on their hands? Like semi-efficient things so that even if you play for say an hour, you made good use of your time.
I have a question on Vanguards: How much damage do you think the punishment for unevenly damaging them should do? I ask because if it's not high enough you'll just ignore it and dps through it as fast as possible, and at the extreme inverse, an instakill would be similarly problematic. There'd have to be a sweet spot somewhere in there, and I'm thinking starting points for that discussion include movement mechanics and setting HP to 1. (Granted saying "add movement mechanics" is kinda a cop out for boss design improvement discussions)

About gauntlet... if you are skilled enough, t2 armour 2 t3 weapon 12 food 2 ppots you should get the kill everytime...and no matter the rooms layout its possible to get all the resources i got 800 cg kc... EVERY run is possible to beat, dont blame rng on this one
@Roi M t1 armor t3 wep 5:1 with 10 food is guaranteed with no mistakes which is what I meant (if you prep as much as you say, you most certainly are not at the skill cap yet)
Im just replying to what u said about relying on rng to get you the gaunlet kill... my pb is 6:27 cg i am at the skill cap but with a bigger prep you are gaurenteed to get the kill even with a few mistakes.. didnt you say you relay on rng to get the kill?
I have a 6:03, I said improving your time beyond a certain point requires chancing on your supplies (if you bring 6 food like I was doing the kill is not guaranteed), watch smorc9000s vids he gets a completion every few hours lol

I think the olm (solo) encounter is more in depth than verzik. There's just so much more going on with 7:3 scythe, redemption procing poison and burning, etc.
Was this done on livestream? If so then I get its good content at the time but this is tough to watch on YT and should be edited down and planned out. You clearly have a grasp on what makes the bosses engaging and fun but I've tried getting through this vid on 3 separate occasions and its just too long, the video itself isn't engaging. You're knowledge of this game is super fun and helpful and I love watching your guides because you include high level intricacies others don't, but only when you are showing your skilled gameplay. If this was an hour and a half where it showed cuts of you fighting the bosses or showing mechanics you don't like about them, this would be a banger.
I put scorpia higher in my list, I've been killing it with my pure UIM and the mechanics have given me some chance for improvement as well as interesting choices with gear since there's risk for reward involved in wildy.

You can like KBD, or the kraken, or kalphite queen, but the truth is that they’re not interesting gameplay wise. Players and the developers have gotten better at utilizing runescape’s unique mechanics to make better bosses.
sepulchre is painful and has that "skill floor" you're talking about through the roof. I admit I am bad at the game in general, but this place is the deepest, purest, worst kind of cancer.
I normally like video's that feel organic and don't follow a script, but It's painful to watch someone 'um and err' for this long - this is the kind of content that needs scripting

I love the Hallowed Sepulchre so much and it makes me kind of sad the majority of players will never experience it.
