dang. i was 2 years old back then man. i would have loved to have been there. this man was and is a legend and a truly skilled and remarkably fantastic guitarist. rip chuck
I was a teenager when he died and he had a great impact in my music. He will never been forgotten, especially for the invention of the death metal genre.
Watching the intro...so Chuck knew how to sweep as well? I probably never heard him sweeping, i thought he just focused on alternate. Well, maybe that's just me, however that feels good to know! :)
rizzo92 alternate picking is way harder than sweep picking to me..most of the lead guitarists doesn’t even bother to sweep pick because they think it’s too cliche...
I think he knew how to sweep ever since the beginning of 90's, but he did use it very rarely. He's seems to be just a very self taught guitarist, so his technique might seem bad (but execution is perfect). I only remember him doing it on somewhere Leprosy and Spiritual Healing. There was some sweeping something on Sound of Perseverance (Moment of Clarity?), but I think it sounded like Shannon Hamm was doing it. Well at least that one time it was very well done. I don't know why he didn't like to do it, but at least it made his solos a bit easier for me to learn since I always sucked at sweeps and still suck.
@@araarathisyomama787 I'm not sure about Leprosy, but he for sure did it on some solos on Spiritual Healing. There are probably some smaller economy picking things here and there on all other albums as well but since they aren't arpeggios they don't sound so clearly like sweeping. I also recall there being some sweeps by him on the Control Denied album.

@jmescortez The playlists have existed since I put the videos on youtube. Click on my channel, look above the video player, next to uploads is playlists, everything is in there.
@Stevejemiolo1 I only want to share official releases that are also of a good quality. I believe Eric Greif has plans to release Death live in Tokyo in the future. On another note heres a link to someone else high quality Death video /watch?v=8a22Y8JYjTU . You could also search death chile high quality
@HolyDiver1 It is what it is. I upscaled the dvd through hdmi. Yeh the original is 4:3 but nothing is in 4:3 these days. People dont want to see that. Both LA and Eindhoven were made to fit on a dvd5 so not even dual layer. I would suspect that there is no Death that will ever make an appearance on Blu-Ray. I highly doubt any Death was filmed on 16mm howeva when I get the opportunity to interview Eric Greif I will be sure to ask, as it is something I would personally love to know.
The detail is defiantly better here, though it's not in 4:3 as it should be. Is there any chance of a Blu-Ray release? The picture quality on the DVD was pretty bad, probably due to compression. And have there been any Death shows shot on at least 16mm film?
These guys are so good they even got the security guards head banging xD

absolutely agree, he basically created what we now call "Death metal". was an incredible forward-thinker and a genius in my opinion.
Lol, he is very fucking far from underrated. Even my old guitar teacher knew Schuldiner and he did not even listen to metal

Kind of makes sense since Chuck wrote several scales which did not exist before him.
@@philip_si you referring to Phrygian dominant? thats been around for ages in arabic and egyption music. But yes he brought it to metal
