Most tourists in New York visit the Met Cloisters' more famous sibling - the Metropolitan Museum of Art - but this gem, tucked up in the Washington Heights neighborhood, flies a bit more under the radar. Lived a street from Ft. Tryon until I was 11. Damn, so long ago! For some reason, the Cloisters always scared me as a kid.

Loved your video. Very nicely worded & put together. I'm a local lifelong NY'er & didn't even know about this place until a few days ago. I'm doing some off the beaten path stuff around the city so I'll definitely be going here Thurs as they're closed on Wednesdays. I read as a NY resident we can "pay what you wish" for admission. Also read plenty of car parking which will be needed as I'll be driving there.
