Jason, your video makes me feel cold over here! but in your last vid you asked if we had any views on the quality of picture from your phone against using a 'camera' and all I can say is that from what I see and enjoy, the quality on that phone is great, even when you shoot at night, it always seems to provide feeling of actually being there - great job
61 degrees in Elfers Florida now, no wind no fog kinda duey.
Thanks for the video Jason. Looking forward to video tomorrow
Good morning I enjoyed the video👍👍
The centerbeam cars are used for the wood insdustry. They need a lot for reconstruction of Los Angeles now ! 20 cars ! No deed to speed, Jason !!
I just I found your channel. Don't know how. Maybe put "trains" in the channel name somehow? It looks like great content.
I see hours and hours of trainviewing ahead!😁😁🚂 Now its time to listen to good train music..City of New Orleans..
People are in such a hurry these days. One day they will learn the hard way that the train is always going to win in the end!
Great video Jason watch out for ice thanks
Great, its Wednesday here in Southern Ontario. Looking forward to your Thursday video.Greg 😊.
The sensors for activating the crossing probably got disconnected when they rebuilt the curve and they're waiting for spring to repair the crossing lights. There may also be other issues with the control box - perhaps older electronics that need replacing.
Awesome channel great video like and subscribe thank you for your support
good train video
Don't lok to cold up there, with the conductor not wearing a coat! I love the snow, but I can't handle the cold anymore. Feels like spring here in Texas!
You got that right!
The police car even beat 503.
You know, they could have installed new warning devices through the entire town, as long as this one crossing has been out of service. I hate to be constantly negative, because I love the scenery and quaintness of this town. It’s just too bad, that the owners and managers of this line, are so cheap; I feel sorry for their employees, because they surely aren’t treated well.
The signals actually work. they ahve used the manual control in the cabinet a few times. The track bonding was damaged in the derailment in December.
I know, You heard ELS 502 across the iron mountain. So we had to go see it. I'm from Alabama. The crew going back.. Yes! We flagged down at Iron mountain down town. No Train Horn zone! Don't y'all speed across the snow crossing. They see the locomotive but they impatient. They would not fix the crossing bells. Okay Now! Railroad traffic guard did a great job.
I miss hearing the bells at that crossing they flag down in Iron Mountain wonder if they're gonna fix it
You know what would get broken; is a penny if ol'503 ...
Snowmobiling hasn't been that good up there, aye.
When are they going to fix that crossing? Or how about the FRA suspend the quiet zone until it’s fixed
Awesome channel great video keep them up make sure you like and subscribe thank you for your support
Does the crossing have to be flagged in both directions? If so, that might not be a track approach circuit issue. No doubt, the signal box relays and stuff are old and out of warranty. It might be hard to find replacement parts. Wonder if there are any crossing signals on abandoned lines from which to scavenge parts. If merely out-of- service, the FRA and/or the state might not permit this.
Good point. The signals being out can be a FRA violation. Can't let them not function forever.
they worked until the derailment this past December. Their signalman has turned them on manually from the cabinet, leading one to believe the track bonding circuit was damaged.
These signals were installed in the mid-70s, replacing the steam era WRRS #5 wig wags. They do have updated 12-inch lenses from the original 8-inchers...
as long as they flag or manually operate the signal, they are ok. Track speed is 10mph through town. That goes back decades.
They should just get rid flashers in iron mountain if those toilet users just gonna ignore them. Put up signs saying if we hit you railroad not responsible.
It's not gonna matter these idiots ignore anything
The most enforceable crossing control device is a STOP sign. If one doesn't stop, it can be revenue enhancement for the City.
@erie910 Yea sure let's get rid of red lights too while we're at it people run stop signs too
Was this crossing broken before the derailment or was it broken because of the derailment?
Because of derailment..
Do the people in this town enjoy Russian Roulette or are they just plain insane? I live in Salt Lake City Utah, light rail runs on surface streets in places. There are either traffic lights or rail arms on most of them. Even then, there are idiots that play RR, most of them lose.
How many wrecks are there every week?
I'm originally from Whitestone, Long Island, NY where you learn common sense & street smarts to survive. When this happens, I think of poor Willy E. Coyote with the ❓️ over his head!
I think train companies should have road signs similar to the old commercial with a 🍳, the 🥚 is the brain & the frying pan is drugs.
This railroad is a class 2 or 3, so they really don't need everything a class 1 railroad has.
Yes i really think it's funny a police car is running the tracks a block ahead of the train
I did not see a flagperson. An ex-BNSF loco running in reverse is dangerous as well.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What do the skeleton looking cars carry?
LP Smart Siding
Post holes north. Smart siding south.

People lose common sense at rail crossings, cannot wait. LP will be busy.
People sure like to be on camera in Iron Mountain!
