Thanks for checking Taeyeon out! Glad to see you enjoyed what you heard, despite her style being pretty much the opposite of what the groups you usually react to tend to do. Fun fact: the members of those groups actually do like her quite a bit as well. Thanks for watching! I was a little surprised. I've seen little clips of female artists and groups during other shows and always been indifferent. I'm definitely going to have to check out more Taeyeon, though.
Nice! I'm glad you ended up enjoying it! I don't typically listen to much music from female kpop artists because I prefer deeper/huskier female voices like Pink, Tracy Chapman, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and the like. There's not much of that in kpop, lol. But Taeyeon definitely has a beautiful voice! It's still not quite my taste of voice, but she is one of the few i DO listen to regardless. I really like some of her other stuff. You might enjoy her song "Fire" or "I (feat. Verbal Jint)". Lots of powerful vocals and acoustic instrumentation :)

This is the story of Artemis and Orion. She loved him but was tricked by her brother Apollo into killing him. In the story she turns him into the constellation, but she envies him because he no longer feels the pain of being in love with someone that they can’t be with like she does. And whether you like the style or not. I don’t think anybody can dislike her vocals lol. One of my favorite songs by her is Rain which is like a 90s RnB track like Brandy. She is in that lower range a lot in that song as well.
Really enjoyed your breakdown of the songs and the lyrics. I love both these songs but still definitely learned something new. Taeyeon is an incredible top-tier vocalist but she's never strains her voice or tries to do too much -- she makes it seem effortless. "Can't Control Myself" is not a very vocal intensive song compared to what she's capable of but she still manages to convey a lot of emotion in it, which I love. --- I think your style of breakdowns would be really interesting in reacting to IU, if you're willing to try another female singer.
