    I don't care what he looks like and I don't care what he sounds, like he's still Eddie Money and that's enough for me.

    On a Sunday morning in church I Iooked to my right and I saw a man that looked familiar and knew it was Eddie Money.He was very well dressed and had his family with him.I didn't want to bother him because I wanted him to keep coming to our church without people bothering him.Ended up being a Wonderful man!

      Now THAT'S a memory! Better than concert memories, by far! I guess this means that I'm one of those "weird, breakin'up the party Christian trouble makers" but when one of my ROCK MUSIC heros dies, I always wonder if they had a renewed knowledge of Jesus Christ, after the "I'M A ROCK STAR!" feeling got old and tarnished. I always wonder.

    I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. A child of the 60s. Got to see many bands get their start, playing at local clubs. One of Sly and The Family Stone grew up around the corner from me. Anyway... I remember Eddie Money used to play a lot at the Longbranch Saloon in Berkeley, CA. As all of these local bands got famous, I didn't realize it. Yes they were on the radio. But it was local radio. Sometimes on TV. We even met some of them or would see them around. Back in they day a friend's little sister had a thing with Eddie Money. My best friend had a fling with Boz Skaggs. I am not going to mention my involvements. Lol! We were all really young.
    It wasn't until I started traveling for my work that I found out these artists had a national and even international following.
    This video proves it.

      Johnny Booth: After over 40 plus years performing the monotony must be wicked but his overall nonchalance isn’t what I would paid good money for. He could of made it truly remarkable and memorable but didn’t care one way or the other....not the way to be remembered at all....

    • @JohnRBooth
      @JohnRBooth 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joesmooth999 Agreed, but I too have played for several decades and it does get mind-numbingly monotonous. The great ones (Jagger, McCartney, etc) are "performers" as well as musicians and this is the difference you refer to. When you provide a show you can't just sing, you have to "show the audience what they should be feeling" and well, Eddie was only minimally good at that. Guys like Leon Russel had zero performance ability where Michael Jackson took it to the max. Take some of these little-to-no talent acts out there now playing gigantic venues. Their singing is average at best but between the energy, the lights, choreography, etc, they command full stadiums of $300 seats while the girl next door outsings them for nothing. People these days "listen" far less than they used to, and "watch" far more than the performer deserves.

    Very saddened at the prospect of saying goodbye to Eddie Money. Baby Hold On is one of my all time favs. That being said, re: this 2017 show & event staging 101: coordinate with the band before you introduce them to ensure they're ready & willing to take the stage enthusiastically. Otherwise, your rousing announcement falls kinda flat and makes the show look bush league.
