There are multiple take-a-ways from this film, the struggles of moving to a new country, racism and bigotry, self defense, never escaping the past, new friendships, and more. I enjoyed this film.
Better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war.
Thank you for uploading this. This was so well acted and portrayed. The racism, the Irish Mafia, the women trained probably from birth in the martial arts... wonderful to watch.
This felt like a full length film in 13 mins lol, great storyline, acting and fight choreography. The characters were all really well formed and had their own personalities. Really well dome!
We need a full length version of this. I met an actual Samurai descendant in a Katana cutting tour. You can just tell this guy was no average dude. His presence alone commanded respect. Cool experience
This is truly great acting and even a great story for a short film! We'd like to see a full length feature movie! You guys did a wonderful job in performing 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💯
I believe this takes place during the Meiji Era shortly after Bakumatsu
They mentioned it's 1883, so yes, the Meiji era. Swords were banned in Japan after 1868, actually, so these people may have somehow had to smuggle their weapons out of the country.
Really cool fighting scene. Story is really nice, too. Fantastic short film!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for leaving a comment and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE ►
Damn this is good. I would like to see more kind of this movie, surely in lot of duration.
Nice short! It is unfortunate that such discrimination and violence continue to exist.
True Tale !!! Everyone should be able to defend themselves.Weapons are better to have and not need then need not have but not sure knowledge of any kind you can live a full long life and never learn everything you need to know must learn what you can to allways adapt to what like bring upon you.
Awesome short movie! Please do a sequel!

That is so beautiful.
Will there be a movie or a series 🤔
Why does this have soo few views?!?!?!
PTSD.
Shucks! I was waiting for them to come back to meet their comeuppance. I guess, that's for another video.
Gotta make sure the Yanks regressed to using short daggers and sticks (not even cavalry swords), instead of guns, in order for this movie to work- in a age when any 2 bit gangster in America had a gun and would use it first, not last - and, trigger-happy, he would almost always fire 2 shots at a target, not one. But this thug here, though armed with a firearm, decided to fence with a short blade against a long 2 handed sword (a brave and skilled thug, or an extremely stupid one?) but finally after he's been bested, pulled a gun at the woman, and that's AFTER she'd cut him in his leg.....but then he proceeded to fire only One, one shot....which she cut (making her more skilfull than Itosai or Musashi)..... otherwise it was an enjoyable movie.
So you missed the part where he said he had just one bullet left? Anyway, it's film, not reality. And excellently done at that.
@@bertushofstra8246 Yes, gotta make sure he's got only one bullet
He said he had one bullet left and he didnt want to waste it. And they were Irish. Did you not watch it?
@@williamshakespeare9815 Unless you were a Jedi Master or Swords expert, you wouldn't, no one in their sane minds would fence with a drawn Katana using a mere dagger.....I wouldn't even do it with a six year old, let alone a nimble teenager who already gave me a beating moments ago without even drawing the sword. They're thugs, doesn't mean they're dumb - in fact, successful thugs are the ones that are street smart, could size-up the situation and read a person really quickly -
therefore this short film isn't realistic what with those dumb louts as "Irish thugs".
the dayly income of a farm worker, like a cowboy, was 1 dollar. The price of a revolver was 6 dollar. A cartridge was 1 dollar. A fully loaded revolver was worth 2 weeks of work (Sunday was less work and less pay because people went to church). But you also had to pay for other things, not just your gun and bullets.
Only very few people would shoot first. Of course, such people existed. But I would not expect an irish immigrant in the 1870s to have enough money to waste it in a lot of bullets.
Guess it’s hard for immigrants in those days
Hi
They're foreigners in USA.

Im going to school so bye
I'll be here when you get back.
