Tell Mayor hello. He’s one of the best authors of the hiking book genre. I’ve bought and read all of his books. You are walking in the company of a legend.

The Basin and Range area is, indeed, a product of plate tectonics as the Pacific plate slides against the North American plate. The collision created block faulting which resulted in the ranges (called Sky Islands) we see in the southwest. Geologists estimate that the mountains originally rose 30,000 feet above the basin floors. The weird rock formations seen as they made their way up Mount Lemmon were created when wind and rain eroded away the looser material and left the large stacked boulders in place.

Hey Rocket. I watched your AT adventure last year. I really respect your patriotism and back round. I just watched your 15 Question episode. U r from Johnstown and grew up in Pittsburg, that’s awesome. I grew up in the Reading area and wanted to Thru hike the AT last year, but Covid shot me down. I read about Mt. Lemon back in the 90’s via Arizona Highway Magazine. I would like to hike out there. I’m envious of you. Stay strong and keep hiking onward.
    I enjoy your videos.
    Thx much, Hipster

Your life purpose is your contribution to life and society….it is about recognizing your own gifts and using them to contribute to the world-whether those gifts are playing beautiful music for others to enjoy, helping friends solve problems, or simply bringing more joy into the lives of those around you. You won’t necessarily have a epiphany! I have done lots of thinking about you and searching everywhere for purpose…..you may go thru life and NEVER discover your purpose…..

As a bear or a kitten you better think twice about messing with this tramily. Feel lucky if you only get starred down by Rocket. Stage two would be the marines, stage three would be an argument with Mayor that’s when you learn to fly high up in the sky...
