I tried a Lab and it totally blew me away, it was as close to point and shoot, loved it and can't wait to get one. The hardest part is getting used to not manipulating the head, just let it swing.
Exactly the same story here. I found my grip transitioned from being very manipulative & strong with my Spider to being super soft with the DF3. It physically feels better to putt now because I'm more relaxed
All I can say is LAB Golf Putters are the real deal. DF3 restored fun for me. I dreaded 3 footers, it was like I couldn’t hit my own arse with a handful of marbles, now I eat 3 footers up and I feel anything within 8 foot is makeable.
@@wombatfeeder999 I was in my local golf store doing some bay time. I have known the owner for 30+ years and does all my fittings. He had never held a LAB putter let alone a DF3. I let him try mine. It was funny watching his face as he made putt after putt and the roll was so smooth. He now believes there is something to these putters. He was still shaking his head when I left. Told him he needs to carry them.
Got the mezz.1 two years ago. Amazing consistency, so much easier to start a ball on the line. Love they are coming out with more colors. Makes putting more fun.
Great interview with Sam. I laughed when Chris said he had a broomstick on the way. I've always felt that at some point a broomstick putter was going to be my golf reality and am just waiting for the opportune moment to get one to start working on my conversion.
I had my doubts, tried one and now I have a Mezz Max. It actually does what what they say it does. The ball tracks straighter than any putter I have ever used!! I am getting close to the hole and eliminating 3 putts.
I have always been a good putter so I was not trying to fix something, I love my DF3 !!!! a few weeks of practice and I have made so great putts . I also feel my distance control is so good with this putter.
Same! Always good at reading and lag-putting but not excellent at starting at line. First day today with DF3. Holy shit! Worked right away. 29 putts 7 one-putts 4 birdies. Never ever sunk so many long putts ever. Still laughing out of surprice. Speed control and roll was the best I’v ever had. And this was with a stock version I lifted the heel on from 69 to maybe 72-73 lie. I am definitly getting fit Now knowing it is worth every dollar getting that exact fit. Only 2 fitters in Sweden doing LAB so had to buy one to try.
@@tufva7314 theoretically - that would be explainable . if the putter does not have forces making it torque as it swings - it is more mechanically efficient - and so a simpler more precise mechanism . And therefore a more repeatable and better to hone your feel / distance control . I can see how it makes sense that you would be better at that element
Great Interview, both relaxed AND informative without the BS normally spouted. I currently use an armlock with the lie angle adjustment. Love it, BUT I saw a you tuber from England using the Mez. When I return (mid May) I will be ordering a broomstick with the mezz max head. Once again , my thanks for an excellent interview
I bought the Mezz.1 recently, which took a lot of time, thought, research and even then, I was unsure if the outlay would be worth it. I’m pleased to report that it was. The only reason I now hit the ball off my intended line is because of my own inability to trust my pendulum swing. The putter looks, feels and sounds great.
I really like Sam. Having watched more videos with him over the past several months, especially when BustaJack visited his company for a tour and a fitting, he’s really a pretty cool guy. His willingness to take returns and make requested adjustments also speaks well for his company.
I tried the DF3 at my local PGA Tour Superstore yesterday. I was skeptical about this putter. I didn’t think it would feel that different. OMG, was I wrong. I immediately realized that I didn’t have to fight this putter like I always do with my current putter. I’m sold!!! I need this putter. I completed my fitting video yesterday and sent it in. Once I get my specs, I’m ordering it.
Bought a DF 3 6 weeks ago at Golf Galaxy and have been very pleased. Wondering if I had should have been fitted.....always tinkering! Never satisfied, with my golf game that is.
I reshafted my MEZ 1. The stock shaft is an AMT X100 40.5” shaft. Please explain that. KBS makes great putter shafts. ESP for premium price I’d expect a more premium shaft.
Went to an authorized dealer in Singapore .. tested the DF3 model .. but not sure why it looks a bit different with no printing of made in USA ? While many posted in the TH-cam many DF3 are printed with made in USA.. please advise
Have been watching the rise of these putters and have been wondering since so many on YT are talking about much better they are, why are not more of these on tour and has anyone on tour won using the LAB putter? If so, Sam should be talking that up bigtime
they're getting more prevalent, especially the broomsticks. There's a lot on LIV using them, and a handful on the tour using them (Adam Scott, Will Zalatoris are the first two that come to mind).
If DF3 is good enough for Phil Mickelson there definitly is Something there. I just know this is the best equipment uppgrade I have ever made in 20+ y golfing with a stock DF3. Definitly getting fit propert now and it Will be even more amazing.
Love it! You are the only redeeming quality of this shark jumped company. Looking forward to where you land when a new beast picks you up! Thank goodness you were the one to interview Sam, any other of the jackwagons would have pissed this chance away! Sam needs to hire you around the 14m mark!
The LAB marketing machine is alive and well! From Sam’s interviews to TH-cam golfers/influencers to sightings on the pro tours, they have probably gathered a fair amount of mindshare amongst this space the last couple years. The DF3 is definitely on my radar as a result, but at those prices give me pause. Could I afford it? Sure. Can I appreciate the costs that go into R&D and production for a relatively small club manufacturer? Certainly. Is it that much better than my Spider X that I bought used 3 years ago to justify paying the premium?? Debatable.
I have used a spider X for a while and it’s been my best putter. Used a stock DF3 today for the First time and NOTHING compares to this. I couldnt miss when I Held it in for me a preferable lie (getting fit soon). Never had better roll/speed control and sank Insane putts. I read Greens well but the consistency of starting on the line with the DF3 was a shock. Holed so many long sick putts. The ones I didn’t hole were left with tap-ins. The hype is definitely not just talk and sell strategy. The tech will sell itself. I’m so excited! Damn! XD
I missed everything left at First with my stock DF3 (69 lie). When I put the heel up and use it with probably 73-73 lie I sink every Damn put from super long to tricky short benders. Get fit is the thing. I’m definitly getting proper fit now knowing I love this technology.
I do think some people will putt better with a LAB the same way that some putt better with a blade putter and some better with a mallet style, that being said it seems to me that any putter is captured in your hands it has no over riding ability to keep itself on a different path than what your hands and arms put it on. I’ve never felt a putter fight my input. I recently was looking for a new putter and I tried a LAB and I pushed and pulled as many putts with it as much or more than the rest I tried. I ended up with a EVNROLL as the face technology gives benefits on miss hits
The fact that you pulled them sort of proves the thesis! Our whole lives, we've used putters that try to open in transition. Consequently, we've manipulated the head to close intead of opening so when you get a putter thats not torquing open in transition, we tend to pull them at first until we get over the "torque hangover". But consider that this does show the even with our hands on the putter, torque DOES influence our strokes. It can take a second for some to just let the putter do its thing but once you do, the results are significant.
This! 🖕If you can’t putt the best you ever putted with a LAB you are a bad putter or the lie is wrong for you. My stock DF3 pulled all my shots in the beginning, but If I put the heel a bit off the ground and change the lie from 69 to around 72-73 I hole everything. Insane! Getting proper fitting to change my game forever. Already gone from an avarage 31.5 to 29.5 with LAB from a Spider. (2.4 hcp).
LAB putters may have all the technology to give a person the best chance to hole putts. That being said if a person can't read putts and judge distance it doesn't matter what putter technology you have in your hands.
Saying classic putters that don’t “perform” means that good putting comes down to talent. If these performed better everyone would use them without question. They are just like everything else.
You give 100 new golfers an old Bullseye or 8802....and compare that group to another 100 golfers that get a L.A.B. putter - No doubt in my mind which group produces better putting stats. Good putting isn't entirely based on talent...it's always a function of talent + technology.
Hey mygolfspy, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
He explained that. They don’t like change and don’t want to relearn a putting stroke. He said they manipulate the club face they use to get their result. He also said it takes a week or 2. Also a lot of them are locked in on their clubs with sponsorship.
Those things on the end of your arms can open stuck pickle jars or hold your body weight. They really should not be part of the delicate putting stroke.
I have a customer service issue with a special order. But no one seems to be able to help me out. Any guidance? I'm trying to give them more money and it's like cutting teeth. @mygolfspy

It’s so funny. I used to line up my 3ft putts. With my DF 2.1, I just walk up and knock them in with one hand.
I was skeptical until I tried it. And damn…DF3 is the real deal! I love my new putter!
Yes, it’s an unbelievable putter. The best I’ve ever played.
Can't wait to get my Link! Currently getting back into golf after a nearly 20 year hiatus.
Got the mezz.1 two years ago. Amazing consistency, so much easier to start a ball on the line. Love they are coming out with more colors. Makes putting more fun.
How has it held up over the last two years? Seen/read that the head cover will run the finish off on the corners.

For as much hype as LAB gets, how come they didn't finish top of your putter tests? Thanks
Probably because cost and aesthetics play a factor. I imagine they score highest in perf.

Have you heard of the Honu putter? Mass balanced?
I stuck an Arccos sensor (the new small putter one) in my Mezz.1Max, was that a dumb idea? I can’t feel a difference so I guess not.
I have been wondering the same thing
Df3 standard vs df3 counterbalanced? I don’t have a chance to try them but have done the online fitting. Any advice welcomed?

I tried a Lab and couldnt get it even close to the hole. I just cant get past the look of these things.
My question for Sam would be, what in the world inspired the look of the DF 2.1?
Does left hand low make any differences as per putter choice or any differences in general?(right handed golfer?
I'd like to know the same too

Thanks for asking specifically how one should go about getting one, but Sam seemed to avoid that question both times you asked...😢
Buy a DF 2.1!!! It is seriously better than the DF3! I have variousl reasons why!

There are quite a few playing them and not getting paid for it... that says a lot
