You are so right about them sockets. Only ones I have like that are black impact. White paint marker works kinda so-so. Too hard for metal engraver, but soft enough for a paint marker. Silver Sharpie will work.
Size rubbed off? How about etching size onto socket then write over it with permanent marker? The ink down in the etching doesn’t get rubbed so it stays legible. It’s worked for me but I only use my sockets for occasional “backyard mechanic” work. Your was very helpful. 👍

You always put the cotter pin away from the open end of the hook my man. You put the pin in backwards.
