Cheers. What would you say was the main "point of difference". I haven't really seen many other short reviews that aren't just someone talking to screen.
It's not easy to say. Usually when I look at a short review I don't feel I am any the wiser as to how a game feels and plays but I don't get that with yours.
Kiwitrash in this case. Fun tidbit, my unannounced game after RDR involves a couple of people from this one. Can't say anything more about it until we go live. But how about that art work ;)
I had the good fortune to go to the release event for GKR:Heavy Hitters and thoroughly enjoyed the game. Who's played it and who is still waiting for their copy?
I played it for the first time on the weekend and absolutely loved it. I even said at the time (to my non-wargaming opponents) how much it felt like Warmachine-lite (which is a compliment in my book)
I'm already a warmachine fan and I've played king of Tokyo. Watched this after seeing gkr in a store. singleplayer boardgames aren't my thing but damn is it hard to get people to play sometimes.
Bare in mind, its closer to KoT in terms of difficulty than Warmachine, which is pretty damned complex. Not the core rules, just remembering all the interactions and everyones special skills and feats.
That's how long our 4 player game took to finish all the heavies off. Might be long in retrospect. Tricky one to do time for I guess as a 1 vs 1 will be much shorter. Once they let me add stickers, i'll put one up
3 Minute Board Games thanks for replying, so you played to the last walker standing, what do you think if the version of playing till first walker destroyed ? Would it have made much difference?
Possibly, the way we played was that people piled on the undamaged people rather than working to eliminate wounded ones. 2 Mechs were taken out in the last turn, and one of the remainder was on about 4 health. So probably had one turn left when we called the game at 3 hours due to people having to go home to bed. (2 people were left, but one was miles ahead on points) GKR: will be an anomaly on this list as its a game I only got to play once and spend a few days with reviewing. Most games i'll play a heck of a lot more first so will have more confidence about times and the like.
love your format - especially the 'here's the lighter/heavier versions'
I love that you suggest similar games that focus on different things but scratch a similar itch.
I've never heard of this game but it looks awesome.
Yeah, its a lot of fun. have only played it once or twice since the review as I don't own it. But have enjoyed it each time
I always love the recommendations of other similar games. So much help.
Cheers. Itd always how i talk about games, so it made sense including it. Apparently, some publishers HATE it though
I'm not a fan of super quick reviews but for some reason yours are on point for me and I will be back for more. Thanks.

I played it at GAMA last year and I'm waiting for my copy. Great video!
Hopefully its not too far away. Glad you got to have a go early as well. Super fun game.
Great review Jarrod! Classic Ameritrash.

Hi can I ask where the 2-3 hrs playtime comes from?

fuck that's a good review
Now to figure out why their Expansion/Addon is nearly more expensive than the base game...
I think its mostly models
