This is really great stuff. I've always been curious about the command line and things like OSX and how OSX related to things like UNIX and Linux. So if you cover stuff in that area I'm definitely going to be a return visitor. Also I like your teaching style, you're keeping it simple and yet at the same time not being condescending (which is actually a much harder trick than it sounds). Your demeanor is near perfect. As far as audio, it seems near about right to me. Unless you get a MAJORITY of commenters noticing a particular thing on the audio, I'd keep it roughly where it is now.

I’m a web developer so a lot of what I’ll be talking about will be related to that, but I’m always down to investigate other things! Maybe I could do a video on the differences between Unix and Linux?

Of course that stuff is in books, but something about the audio/visual part of what you do makes it much more fun learning for a lazy guy like me. Maybe one thing---there's other "offshoots" of UNIX other than Linux right?? Such as "Ubuntu"?? Maybe discuss which of the "offshoots" of the UNIX is best for people like me who want to get into "open source" or command line stuff, which one is suitable in which context for beginners. Like with OSX on my Apple is it silly to want to learn Linux type programs when I already have OSX?? Which is better Linux or Ubuntu?? or is there another "lesser known" offshoot of UNIX, that is even better than Linux or Ubuntu?? Wouldn't have to be immediate, just as it fits in naturally with how you had already done your teaching plans.

It's like reading stuff while you act as my inner voice (The one your brain makes when you read stuff in yout head), but its so much less effort than reading and its so relaxing, especially with the keyboard sounds!! Mixed with my life-consuming obsession (No complaints there :D) with coding and learning as much as i can, and this is a great video!

touch is called touch because it *really* doesn' t create a file. It updates the timestamp of said file. If the file doesn' t exist it creates a new blank file and then it updates the timestamp (run ls -l to see timestamps) such as ctime, atime etc Cat is called cat because it conCATinates file(s)
@@dotslashASMR No problem. I missed out on a detail.. Updating a file/folder timestamp in Linux and UNIX is called "touching" something, hence the name. UNIX (and in extention, Linux) has some funky names for stuff
