I admit, in family we stopped buying each other presents. We reached a point since I don't have kids that my parents and I were making lists for x-mas gifts and it was far more stressful to shop for gifts and we were all much better off with going out to a nice dinner and spending time with one another :) For other people - gift cards or donating to my favorite cat sanctuary.
My family mostly gifts to the nephew and small items. It's really all about that time together for sure but Grumps is a big fan of surprising me so I got thinking on fun alternative items 💖💖💖
My sister has her book list down to a science. Excel spreadsheets seperated by genre and some by timeframe (so many history books). She then picks books from the lists for each person to give her based on what the giver likes (I often get the art history and urban fantasy list). She also checks price ranges on several platforms so that she can let us know about how much the books would be. 🎁
I usually give people wish list and even if two people buy the same book they often have a change recet, so I can get a book I want in the bookstore. I do like the bookish candle idea. last year I got a bookish bag.
OMG!! I don't know how lived without my 16' ipad cord! OK that is crazy long but I read in my bed so I need it ..... plus they dont last forever! GREAT idea!
I would L O V E a bedside book house. My best friend has been having a really rough year so I'm teaming up with her husband to do a sort of advent calendar thing for her - she's a HUGE reader and knitter. So far I've gotten her one of my book recommendations that she was interested in reading (The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg), magnetic bookmarks, a reading light that goes around her neck so it can also be used for knitting. We're also going to be 3d printing a bookmark holder and some other stuff. You reminded me that I should check with her hubby because I know I would die if I got a kindle page turner and stand for it, and so now I'm like wait what device does she read on mostly? hahah. Thanks for the timely recs!
OO the Paper Magician is so fun! That's such a good one. I love that your doing this that is soo dang sweet and I bet she will flip out when she unboxes stuff everyday 💖💖💖

Having to stop halfway through because I've never heard of a "candle warmer" and must research. Fascinating.
Oh they are so fantastic! I mean basically it's a wax warmer but for a candle 💖💖💖
100% yes to everything on this! I would love a kindle page turner.
They are such a game changer 💖💖💖
Ohhh the candle warmer and wearable heated blanket are going to change my life! Thank you 😊
Yay!! Your about to have an amazing reading experience upgrade 💖💖💖

Thank you. Thank you. I didn't know they made covers with clear backs.
Yes! It’s so nice you can do the fun clear back and still make use of that magnetic sleep feature 💖💖💖
