first start of a 1963 new performance fordson major. weather seized and not started with 20yrs, had diesel soaking in the cylinder bores with the last three years to free it out
Great old tractor I was ploughing fields in Ireland at a very young age and don't regret it, it helped mold me into hho I am today. I pity today's youth no grit.
I yust to harrow and roll gallops back in 1985 with a major ...very fast tractor on the road ...slow to start in cold weather.... light news papers and stuff them in to the air filter .. swing her over an a way she go...but that tractor the one in the video ....the worst iv ever seen with rust...i was working with a guy back in 1995..putting majors to geather for export Africa.. keep some very good ones.. sold on hear in Ireland...on the button first swing....sorry lever... helo from Ireland.. happy Xmas... stay safe...
I have a Fordson as well. Great tractor. Spend some money on the poor girl and get new sheet metal from Agriline! Such a shame when it still has the will to run!
I own a Fordson Super Major bought by my grandfather in Pakistan Kindly send a link where we can buy the bonnet, mud guards for the Fordson to restore it
Runs ok .I would have cracked an injector line also i didn't think the cold start button in and thoseSimmspumps really need oil added to the side cover we have a oil hole added with a screw for a plug if itsran dry the bearings can sieze on the injector pump I have my dads 59 power major its a very similar configuration to this tractor. Regards Reg

Our first family tractor was fordson super major 1964,.
Runs very nice with no oil smoke. Tin work is amazingly rusty tho.
On a cold day in Ireland you would have to literally light a fire under the engine to warm it before trying to start it.
Respekt!Nice Job!

A yes some day I’ll get around to it
Spray the whole thing with diesel and oil mixed and stop that rust.
if it is a 63 then it is a super major and you can see that from the vertical lines at the front, and the regular major is only built up to 58
Impressive
Starting with water in sump?
Wow runs well. Change the oil filter. Restore that Major.
Great Job,a litle polisch from Paint and go loos the fun ✌
some day she get a new coat of paint
Hope it's not going to be left for another 20 years ! It needs some TLC and take it to some shows
I just bought one in similar condition this week. Haven't tried starting yet. Where you based?
