When I started watching I challenged myself to id the style. I failed that challenge. Later, a magazine said forget it, "There are no rules" to dress like FKA Twigs. Dion: "I can't really pin down her style but it's really well-thought out." "Unique", Dion said several times, which means literally you CAN'T dress like FKA Twigs. So I don't know what it is but I found this video very interesting. I went back and rewatched sections of it. There are a few things that I alerted to: 1) Contrast. Twigs explicitly says that is one of her criteria. "I'm weird about color." She shoots her vids in B&W 2) Feel. She says that explicitly. "I'm not down with intellectualizing it. If you feel like doing something then do it." Why FKA? "I wanted something that sounded masculine and strong." It had the correct feel to her. There is contrast in how Dion describes Twigs' style, "well-thought out" and how Twigs describes her style: not intellectualizing. 3) Dion said at one point that FKA Twigs is like a walking piece of art. Mid-20th century painting, Pollock, Rothko, were all about feel. What feelings did the colors (or lack: one of Rothko's is "Black Over White") evoke in the artist and in the viewer? That is NOT to say that, as it appeared to some, there was not a lot of thought that went into their paintings. Rothko would sit for hours in front of one of his paintings. I did the same for three days when I went to the Rothko Chapel. So there can be a lot of thought that is trained on feel. The mid-century painters did away with "reading" paintings for a narrative. Reading is intellectualizing. It seems to me Twigs says she doesn't want to intellectualize. BUT SHE STILL THINKS THE "FEEL" OUT. Really, really, REALLY got a lot out of this vid. 👏👍👍👍👍👍
@@dionthetaurusis this sarcasm or is this really your dad? If yes then damn your dad is da best ever what an intelligent old man ofcourse you inherited some of it
Her and Helena bonham Carter have the same essence , same spirit in their style. Weird girl chic.
Helena bonham Carter straight up dress like a grandma. Its a NO
Her style is very renaissance meets 90s or British meets hippie- which is kinda who she is too
I wish I could see 1 photo for more than 1 sec..... it's impossible to see anything here! I have to watch it once again with speed down to 0,25 lol
