I’ve consistently been saying that Turki, whilst good in the short term, is setting an unsustainable precedent that simply cannot last.
How many times have we seen a powerbroker come into a sport and bankroll it, only to leave when they’re done?
Fans of European football will understand what I’m getting at.
It’s not addressing the underlying issues in the sport-in fact it’s making them worse.

Thank you Turki, your impact is still being watched. The rihaud season will work even more so once get past the -0-‘s there will come a time when the good eggs are finally gone and the pressure of keeping it is lifted and a fighter becomes human rather then staying a super hero. The idea of “losing a year “ because of the emotional turmoil a loss creates is simply stupid. Haney is not a fighter in my eyes, he’s a pretty good boxer for sure , but the definition of “elite” needs to be based on how they rebound as well as how they win.

Paulie should be renamed the grinch of boxing. How can you find anything wrong with what Turki has done? Why does he care how much money a fighter like Anderson makes?
It's called an INVESTMENT. You create and promote exciting fights, to bring eyes to the sport which is exactly what Turki is doing.
I'm so happy there's a guy with deep pockets coming in and bringing us great fights and consistent fights.
    Paulie is almost unwatchable.

"How can you find anything wrong with what Turki has done?" ummm guys there's a word for what's going on.
Sportswashing: "sportswashing is used to launder reputations and distract from issues like human rights abuses, corruption, or environmental harm."
Saudi is buying up golf, rugby, boxing as part of their "Vision 2030 strategy" to enhance its global profile, aka, make everyone forget about stuff like the mass executions of political prisoners (such as the killing of 81 men in a single day in 2022). There's a lot more going on than some nice guy who likes good fights popping up all of a sudden. Nothing is free in this world, especially when it comes to geopolitical strategies.

Sanchez never opened his mouth, ever. He could do 20 rounds easy. He was always stronger towards the championship rounds where the best were..he fought with a ferocious pace from round 1 to 15. His body movement and angles has never been replicated. He had a granite jaw. He had power in both hands and had every shot in the book. He had NO flaws. What he did to Gomez a all time great was sensational and Nelson who had one of his best fights of his career who went 14 hard rounds he was ready dont listen to what Nelson said. He had 41 fights by the age of 23. He never lost one fight as u said. Against Ford who was awkward, height advantage and massive reach it was Sanchez come round 8 to 15 who finished the strongest. I was 12 at 1980..so u was younger and you say you knew about Ford. No you didnt. U may heard hearsay and we know what happens with that. Sanchez was 23 3 years of his best. Imagine how good he would of been. May be he over looked Ford, may he he did not train as hard as he had before, may be he had injuries, who knows the real truth. I will say this if they fought again Ford would not get past round 10. All the greats have had a off night. If your going judge a fighter as great as Sanchez then u need more than one fight with Ford to make a argument. Roy Jones who was just behind Gerard McCllellan as best super middleweight of all time says Sanchez is the best you better take note and Toney said. Fighters need PEDS which is AI nano technology turning a person into a fighting machine well Sanchez was on water that is it. USYK the mason is on Peds As they all are. Lewis the best ever would destroy him and he was a clean fighter. Sanchez was due to face Agerllo or Pryor who he would of beat but he died. What he did at the age of 23 is insane. There was no on back foot with him. Or clinching or holding. He was master at what he did and it will never again be matched. No fighter in history had everthing he had. He had no weakness. He had no flaws. Never beaten. And when the true greats came to fight him he destroyed them. And u judge him on Ford. Joker

Your comment about Sanchez popped up on my You Tube intentionally. Salvador Sanchez is the best to ever lace a glove. Your rating him on Ford who in 1980 makes you what then? Roy Jones and Toney both agree Sanchez is the best of all time..anyone can have a poor night it's been like that throughout boxing. If they fought again Ford would not get past round 8. He simply fought the fight of his life and Sanchez had the poorest of his career. Yet he still one. No robbery. No fighter can replicate Sanchez. He had it all. No fighter can have their mouth closed at all times, had body movement and angles like him, granite chin, could do 20 rounds, fought had hard pace from 1st to 15 and came to win by KO. I have never seen him.hurt. what he did to Gomez was sensational who is all time great. Nelson fought one of his best fights in his whole career and this not been ready well he went 14 hard rounds looked ready to me. And Sanchez was not on AI nano technolgy Peds back then. A clean fighter. 23 and 41 wins. He would beat Pryor and Argello and all the rest that followed. He was years of his prime. Simply the best ever. When boxing was not so corrupt.

More money, Via Saudi Arabia or anyway brought us better competition. If Turki Ala Sugar Daddy invested in more good matches to see live or TV or online for free or low cost, that’d allow lower level fighters to be noticed. It’d be low or even no profit but it’d reignite boxing in general. Once more fans occur, learn who’s who, start following favorites, rematches, etc, that’d positively pull on our dying (almost dead) amateur division to locate new talent. Gyms can start reopening for that reason. But it’d require a long term investment to wake up boxing. Obvious Turki with Saudi wants to be recognized, respected and that’s ok. But if this guy or his group really wants to, “help boxing” it’ll take effort and $ at our lower pro levels and amateur also. It’s great to catch much better fights but I’m not sure how serious or dedicated Saudi or Turki really are to preserving or saving this sport. There may be another ultimatum but we’ll see soon enough if his/their interest is really in boxing.

My only issue is boxers declining matches due to Turki giving out huge paydays to boxers who are overvalued. The Shakurs of the world are skilled but don’t bring in PPV or sell. Business wants to make a profit end of the day so I don’t see Turki sustaining that. That’s why he’s not coming back to America imo. May last a few more years but we will see.

If it wasn’t for him, we would not be getting all of these fights. I think in 2025 he will continue to try to monopolize boxing. He basically has it monopolized other than protective boxing company. It is amazing with someone with access to $1 trillion and a passion for the sport, of boxing can do. I hope it continues to happen. Money talks BS walks money makes things move. Another problem is inactivity to me. That’s the biggest problem fighters only fight once a year now I’m not asking championship level fighters to fight 12 times a year, but more than once a year would be nice fighters nowadays they fight once and then vanish into the witness protection program. You cannot build a sustainable sport that way you cannot market yourself that way I always go back to the Mike Tyson example Mike Tyson became a star because he was active stayed in peoples faces and knock guys out. Another example is Tommy Morrison. Tommy Morrison was not even an elite level heavyweight. He was a good final but he wasn’t elite. That’s how he got that movie role in Rocky five because he was activity standing in people‘s faces and knock guys out. Activity matters.

    • @TheseNuts2
