Lizzie's condition is actually Marfanoid-progeroid-lipodystrophy syndrome (MPL), of which there are fewer than 10 cases that have been reported as of 2016, making her a rare jewel.
She has testified before Congress in support of anti-bullying legislation and is the subject of an award-winning documentary, A Brave Heart, that chronicles her life and her anti-bullying activism.

I see a humanity in these individuals that; since they've chosen to embrace, has made them so admirable. It's amazing just watching these people express themselves, its not even about "oooh what's your deal?" It's humbling to experience that special something about humanity that we just need to be reminded not to take for granted.

I watch these videos to learn how to be kinder to people. The interviewer is an excellent role model for that! He said "I believe it's so important to defer not to my own terminology, but to your terminology. Because it's your life. It's your reality." That's so important to learn!
Wow, the discussion on comparison made me realize where a lot of my sadness has come from. I never even realized the root of many of my negative thoughts was coming from me comparing myself. Thank you so much for helping me realize this, Lizzie. 💕
Same! One of the reasons I got off Facebook was because I was constantly comparing myself to my friends and thinking I was a failure because my life didn’t seem to be as exciting as theirs. Now I’m just living my life and I feel so much better!
@@lauras6762 the lives of these people who show off on facebook are probably so empty thus the need for non stop approval demonstrated by the non stop uploads of photos of themselves ... if someone is happy, there is no need to seek approval every second of the day. People like Lizzie are not empty shells but people with an inner depth that renders them beautiful the moment they start speaking.

Wow, so much of what Lizzie said makes so much sense to me, especially how she feels loneliest when comparing herself to someone else. Tons of insight in one wonderful interview. The world is richer with such a bright, wise person in it.

I like to look at these people who have physical deformities and find their spirit because the spirit is the real you. When one has a lovely spirit it comes through.
Me too ....id rather them over a famous bigshot TH-camr who has everything or these Kardashians ughh.....you really see people of differences and with deformaties and get to know them better and they should all be treated equally no matter what , they are humans they have feelings . and hey im even learning about how i should socialize with them and learning about what types of conditions are out there 😊
