Me personally I would’ve preferred if Rockwell was the one who finished him, after all Falco was the one who mutated Rockwell and tormented him practically ruined his life. It’s a shame they never meet again and Rockwell get his revenge.
Easily my favorite version of the character, scary looking design, has a backstory that makes sense, and he serves as a great secondary nemesis to splinter. Where shredder has a connection to his human side, rat king has a connection to his mutant side, his fear of losing his humanity.
Is the original a joke to you, kind sir? In both the comics and the '87 cartoon, his role as "villain" was always ambiguous; sometimes he was the Turtles' enemy, other times an ally; he that mysterious. He wasn't your typical, evil madman out for world domination like this cheesy version, even his origin was a mystery.
I love this Rat King. The fact that he was played by the same guy from The New Batman Adventures gave me the same chills as that version of Scarecrow way back when.
Even though it lasted too little, I loved this version of the Rat King. Never taken the 90s version seriously. For Spilter's hallucination yes, maybe it made more sense if he was of rat origin. But even so, if Splinter must remain human and let himself go to the animal side. Especially in the situation he finds himself in.
I love the Rat King hes one of my favourite Tmnt villains I wish he was in more episodes he was the second Arch Nemesis of Splinter and his worse nightmare

In most cases, I find him a more interesting and compelling adversary than nearly all the Shredders out there. It's too bad the creators felt they had to kill him off, even though I can understand why.
I also completely agree with you I find rat king was one of the greatest most frightening villains of all time it’s such a shame he died in season two I felt he should’ve been kept alive till season 3 at least
You know how far they change this Rat king as they give him a name, backstory and design as he looks like the Scarecrow from that Batman series with a mummy and a plague doctor hat and coat as he would have fit quite well with the Universal monsters that the turtles fought against later on in the final season. I always thought of the Rat king as the turtles Neighbours that always bickering with them and remember I said about reimagined him as a soldier which it was before the theory I made about the 1987 series counterpart as Vietnam Veteran Seeing that this shows that maybe Rat king should be Splinters polar opposite as Shredder is more personal as this Shredder was a real piece of work all because of sense of entitlement to a woman. Also he didn’t know that he was working for the Krang right? Especially that I don’t really like this scarecrow design because he doesn’t look like a scarecrow because I thought of his redesign should look like the Killer from Nightbreed and Ezekiel Rage from the real adventures of Jonny Quest and there’s nothing much to cover on the 2003 version as I wonder why they never used him more often?
I have plans for a lot of 2012 videos on my to-do list, but it may take me a while to get there. My schedule changes often, but right now it looks like most of the 2012 videos this year are coming out in the second half of the year.
