@@Paulftateits a multitude of reasons, but the 82nd not taking Nijmegen bridge like they where supposed too was pretty much the main reason, the Germans had a skeleton force on the bridge and yet Gavin ignored this
@@phillipwebster9747 that bridge technically was only a bridge over a canal .... didn't impede nothing ... at Remagen it was a totally different scenario
@@Paulftate no it wasn’t , you’re forgetting the fact the 82nd had to do an actual amphibious assault across the river to get to the other side, this would of been avoided had they actually taken it in the first place

Great film. One of my personal trilogy of war films alongside Kelly's Heroes and The Dirty Dozen.
A fine trilogy of movies if I say so myself!
It’s a great film, historically touch and go, but it’s a pretty good overall view of the operation, anything with the Para’s on show is good for me
