@@OutrageIsNow Ah like minds I see, hello fellow grammar police officer, careful now your grammar police license can be suspended if you continue police brutality.
I don’t comment on TH-cam usually, but this is by far the best horror short on TH-cam. The scene where the friend is throwing up and the girl comforting him turns around to reveal the creepy mask for the first time… genuinely brilliant. The way it caught me off guard was insane. It’s played off casually (obviously it Halloween) but that made it even more unsettling. I was tense, confused, nervous, curious, all in the best way dude. Great work. I cannot wait to see what else you do with the genre. Outstanding.
Solid performances. I love the part when she's on the phone with Joseph and she's smiling but the music is still ominous. Really puts you in the main character's headspace - everyone's acting normal while he's going through this nightmare.
This is better done than 99% of the random college films I bump into online. Been going through your catalog on here, and honestly - you guys make some great videos, keep up the great work.
I love the attention to detail with regards to the sound where it's muffled when people are talking outside the car or living room when filming in the bathroom and how it goes back to normal when the car door opens etc. Details like this make a huge difference. In high budget films especially, sound is everything.
The scene where he drove home with the noises coming from the trunk made me the most terrified in a long while. I think the reason for that was that it happened in broad daylight. It was a peaceful, beautiful morning in the neighborhood. Place and time where we would feel the most safe and the least suspecting of anything sinister. And then THIS happening truly felt like he's nowhere safe.
it's fitting that the #1 video youtube recommends after watching this is "The Chair". Both are unsettling in a similar way. Awesome job, everyone involved!
Im sure you guys know this but this is exactly whats missing from the genre of horror. This is horror. This is what its about. god tier short fillms. Please do more
The creative increase to the Rewatch value is the GOAT. It's honestly on the level of the bigs like Nolan and Hensen. This is talent. This is definitely talent!
The Jumping trunk and the slowly closing door scene that he can't seem to stop are very original. The whole car jumped. You get a like and a subscribe for that alone...lol. The plot is pretty dop and the acting was great as well.
Dude, this was insane. I’m very curious and definitely going to watch again. I’m pretty amazed at how good this was. Moments like the “your mom’s name is Harriet” note, the sounds coming from his trunk, the photo from the dream being on his table, the sudden change of personality in his friends, and even more all just do SUCH a good job at freaking you the hell out. The performances were phenomenal as well, the dialogue and acting are all so believable. Everything here is fantastic and you should be very proud. I just need some answers🤣
@@Bethsabee_Sheba_Newrose I'm a strong advocate of using prepositions to end sentences [with]. That is, if they're needed. But the rule was never an overly smart one from the beginning. For example, it's better to ask, "Who did you go to dinner with?" than to ask, "With whom did you go to dinner?" The latter makes the speaker sound snobby and verbose, while the former is more succinct. Having said that, it's ALWAYS good to meet another person who respects the English language, so I greet you warmly and fondly.
@@ajmittendorf Thank you for your friendly approach. The fondness is happily received and is mutual. I can see the merit of your opinion, and I, despite being a stickler for the rules I’m being taught, accept the fact that English does change over time. As for snobbery, I think it depends on the tone of the speaker. Wait, tones can be subjective. In fact, I just realised that no matter what tone is used to say something like, “Where’re you guys at,” I wince. You’ve made me rethink things here. This is an important moment in social media history! I believe we just engaged in civilised civil discourse without feeling defensive or petty. How refreshing!
the way that lady walks is the freakiest part and, judging by the comments, it's also the most underrated. the trunk scene was cool, but the walk was unnaturally eerie.
my heart skipped a bit lol. so weird. you just don't expect that cut, and it's unacknowledged, no sting noise - nothing. I think it's the subtle zoom too that's the cherry on top
I love your minds man especially barkers acting. Yall are both great at acting and writing. The door scene is great. The car scene gives goosebumps!! And the weird dream scene. I especially like the voices coming from the other room just to find a female and male friends and not the two male voices and how it was clearly his friends voice. You guys are good at just thinking about what things would all the sudden be creepy as hell if they were taken out of context and had no explanation. Anything can be so scary when it’s unexplained and out of context.
I just stumbled upon these shorts and now am binging them all. This is SO well done and had me feeling like I was truly losing my mind. Outstanding writing, acting, music and musical cues, editing, pacing, and just the overall sense of dread, fear and panic. Absolutely terrifying and brilliantly executed. A full-length film has to be in Curry Barker’s near-future and with these amazingly talented and compelling actors. Some of the finest TH-cam original content I have ever seen.
First of all. Acting is great, 10/10. Let's just get that out of the way right now. The people here felt like real people. Not like someone held them hostage and told them to act. 3 minutes in, I hit the like button before I even finished the movie. Despite being a horror short, this one in particular did an impressive job of making me unsettled, then laugh, and then back to being scared again. The dream sequence was spot on, and the AI joke gave me a good chuckle. The ending left me with some questions, but all signs are pointing to he's dead and stuck in a loop. There's also some intentional/unintentional symbolism. Like the door closing and him being unable to stop it just spoke to me. I could see this being a Twilight Zone episode; definitely TV show-quality writing.
these videos show an insanely good response to fear that isn't often replicated in media, the banging on the trunk and the refusal to even look, internally hyping himself up to check. This shit is phenomenal, keep it it lads.
great film and storytelling ! from what i’ve gathered of the story, shawn was supposed to die in the accident he was talking about in the beginning but because he didn’t, that led to the actions of him going to the party the next day and killing someone, presumably Kyle, driving drunk from the party; him evading death led to the following consequences death cycled back to shawn by him killing himself due to the guilt of killing Kyle; this could help explain the dream scene in which Kendall is asking about enemies (kyle) the snapshot represents the moment of impact and the man that Kendall is punching at the end seems to have facial hair so I’m assuming it’s different from the other characters and that this man is Kyle and shawn is screaming helplessly as he is watching Kyle die; At the end he kills himself and it reveals a cycle of him trying to prevent the cycle from continuing by leaving notes which should explain the I’m begging you to stop note and don’t drive your car but in the end he realizes that he is unable to escape the cycle; his friends Kendall and the girl are personifications of death and the afterlife and he is trying to explain in the notes that these are not his actual friends in reality which is why he can’t “trust them;” and the man knocking after the accident could either represent shawn actually trying to get help for Kyle and no one answers, prolonging aid to Kyle or shawn trying to unconsciously save himself from the cycle because he knows that he will kill himself in the end and is trying to get him to come outside and get help
Found your comment on TikTok about your theory and I’m glad I came back to read it! Your explanation seems to make a lot sense with the story and I can actually understand the film with this theory in mind
I totally didn't take it that way at all. I simply thought this was an elevated way to tell a story about someone with DID. Kyle is Sean. That's why his friend asked who he was talking to. "Which personality is this?" When everyone else switches over, it's actually Klye/Sean switching over and you see the world the way that personality sees.
This is by far one of the best and most creative short horror films I’ve ever seen, absolutely horrifying at every turn and not super obvious which is great

Okay... this is one that I really can't figure out. Did he actually die but he doesn't think he did? At the end he starts over with the same "I had a near death experience" conversation. Is that his ghost? Is he in limbo? He keeps reliving the same thing over and over and that's where the "I'm begging you to stop" note came from because he's tired of reliving it.

@@samyansari2328 No I didnt but I did take a closer look and you might be right! 😮
I agree. The Chair was also brilliant. Both films are on another level. Looking forward to seeing more.
Those 2 & Aunt Mable & Mama Agnes for some reason.
Omg the chair was phenomenal but I think this might be even better
My man could have literally added like 15 min of background info in the beginning, 15 min to the rising tension, and then 15 min to the climax/ ending… then released it independently as a full length feature, and would be in the running for best horror movie of 2024, if not the top 5. Top notch, hope this catapults you guys past your goals. RELEASE MORE OF THESE AS A SERIES AT LEAST! and cash the fuck IN! 🤙🏻
Then it's called the mechanic 😋
Actual better acting then most movies today.
Sure thing buddy.
And it’s “than”
@@OutrageIsNow Ah like minds I see, hello fellow grammar police officer, careful now your grammar police license can be suspended if you continue police brutality.
Better writing and directing too.
I realized half way through that my jaw was unironically dropped because this was so good.
The shift in expression of the couple on the couch was the most chilling thing I've seen in years. Fantastic acting and directing.
I love the attention to detail with regards to the sound where it's muffled when people are talking outside the car or living room when filming in the bathroom
and how it goes back to normal when the car door opens etc.
Donnie Darko vibes....love it!
I was thinking this
Ditto
Im sure you guys know this but this is exactly whats missing from the genre of horror. This is horror. This is what its about. god tier short fillms. Please do more
The creative increase to the Rewatch value is the GOAT.
It's honestly on the level of the bigs like Nolan and Hensen.
This is talent. This is definitely talent!
The Jumping trunk and the slowly closing door scene that he can't seem to stop are very original. The whole car jumped. You get a like and a subscribe for that alone...lol. The plot is pretty dop and the acting was great as well.
Kinda lost me at the trunk tbh
Dude, this was insane. I’m very curious and definitely going to watch again. I’m pretty amazed at how good this was. Moments like the “your mom’s name is Harriet” note, the sounds coming from his trunk, the photo from the dream being on his table, the sudden change of personality in his friends, and even more all just do SUCH a good job at freaking you the hell out. The performances were phenomenal as well, the dialogue and acting are all so believable. Everything here is fantastic and you should be very proud. I just need some answers🤣
They need a damn show. I’ve never donated to anything. But I want to donate to them to help fund them
Wow! I am thoroughly impressed! "To whom am I speaking?" Grammatically correct use of "whom." Bravo.
I liked how the friend was like “Whom? You used whom? Is that even the correct use of whom?” lol it’s so genuine for most people
I greatly appreciated the proper usage of the phrase, avoiding the placement of a preposition at the end of a sentence. 🤓
3:50 This scene is actually so good. It’s so unsettling for a second. Even though it’s just a halloween mask at a halloween party.
my heart skipped a bit lol. so weird. you just don't expect that cut, and it's unacknowledged, no sting noise - nothing.
I agree 💯.
Absolutely agree I also randomly stumbled upon these shorts and watching all of them loving every minute
are you jason stathams long lost twin?
I've watched dozens of "award winning", still quite pointless shorts. But THIS one was really good! So how come it has no awards?
these videos show an insanely good response to fear that isn't often replicated in media, the banging on the trunk and the refusal to even look, internally hyping himself up to check.
🤯
I totally didn't take it that way at all. I simply thought this was an elevated way to tell a story about someone with DID. Kyle is Sean. That's why his friend asked who he was talking to. "Which personality is this?" When everyone else switches over, it's actually Klye/Sean switching over and you see the world the way that personality sees.
How did you work all that out! I hadn't a clue! Clearly you're brainy and I'm not.🙄I'm going to watch it again
@@FoodieBeautysNoFilterPicOoh that makes sense
This needs to win an award. Award-winning right here. I had to comment 2x it was so awesome. And I've seen thousands of short horror films.
This is by far one of the best and most creative short horror films I’ve ever seen, absolutely horrifying at every turn and not super obvious which is great
The door closing slowly was ✨ horrifying✨
Out of all of the horror shorts I've seen on TH-cam, this one's probably one of, if not the best one.
please make more, this is by far the best psychological horror short film i’ve ever seen. the acting was incredible, the score and the shots
Bizarre, unsettling, intriguing, brilliant, and straight-up beautiful. I love passion projects like this that have so much genuine heart. This story was nurtured to maturity with so much care, and it shows from beginning to end. There's an art to doing horror well. This is it.
Fastest 19 mins of my life. Pls make more
gives a STANDING OVATION. BRAVO. We NEED more people like you to give horror a fresh face. WONDERFUL story!
Can't wait for you to make your first feature length film. I love your horror shorts and I think you have so much to give to the genre! Keep up the spooky shit!
Also, in the scene of Regan walking across the room near the end of the movie, was that sequence inspired at all from the original Japanese horror movie Pulse?
U can wait
@danaparson760 figure of speech. Stfu losr
The acting so good no one’s posting the “deeper meaning” comment!😭😭 you guys got a hit
The walk
Ive never seen a walk like that.
Assumed it was slo mo at first....of course.
But then.......I saw that it wasnt. 😐
The control they had with their body was sooooo unusual. Liken to w breakdancer. Slow motion is always cool but this ....was a mind tease. Loved that part. Never seen it. 👍👍👍👍🖐️🖐️
The dialogue feels so natural and so intimidating - when it's just them talking, it all feels like stuff actual people would say. And when it's disturbing and cryptic, it feels exactly like what you'd hear in a dream. Amazing writing.
Absolutely loved it, need a full-length film asap
this is genuinely some of the best horror ive ever seen. good work
I’m speechless, literally, jaw dropped but nothing is coming out. It took me a few seconds to compose myself to think of what I just watched and what to say about it. This is by far one of the best Horror Shorts I have ever seen. Just wow! Incredible!
Sound design is so unique I’m obsessed
Everything from start to finish was perfect, my eyes were glued, just found y’all and can’t wait to see more
Not gonna lie, this is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Absolutely fantastic film! Great work!!
I am fascinated by that door closing scene! Would love to see some behind-the-scenes for your stuff; very clever film making in these shorts!
No way dude....hand written??! 👀
This was EPIC. FOR REAL. Great work.
Okay... this is one that I really can't figure out. Did he actually die but he doesn't think he did? At the end he starts over with the same "I had a near death experience" conversation. Is that his ghost? Is he in limbo? He keeps reliving the same thing over and over and that's where the "I'm begging you to stop" note came from because he's tired of reliving it.
It's ridiculous how complicated they made this
I think so. I think kyle is him. i think he is leaving himself notes to try to help him to pass on. And his friends arent his friends, theyre death and trying to help him move on
@@Taymarie78 If he's leaving himself notes to help pass on and his "friends" are death who ALSO want him to pass why did one of the notes say "dont trust your friends"?
@@Xenomorphasized Nah. Kyle is the version of him that is fighting and refuses to accept. When he realizes he's dead, then I think he becomes Kyle. I guess it's sort of a.. you are you sort of, but not really.
@brandonvandine1695 it's not ridiculous, ur just not ready for it butthead
Man, the stuff you guys manage to do without any big budget or effects is incredible and legit inspiring. Just discovered this channel and I'm so impressed after bingeing all these shorts.
These skits and short films never cease to amaze me, hope to see a full movie eventually. You guys rock
Thank you so much for actually telling a story that draws us in, makes us focus, makes us think, and then exhale at the end with a smile. Wonderful job.
It's definitely left me wondering: did he die and didn't realize? : did he actually get hit [when he thought he cheated death] and sustain a head injury that left him not knowing who he actually was ? Either way left me with the creeps !
“They look scary because you make them scary” that is an insanely powerful statement about fear.
Tiny detail, but I love the slow motion walk at the end. Very Kairo.
Absolutely love these short films, the feverish horror is incredible. I love things that just feel like a horrible fever dream given actual structure
I just put this on casually, not expecting much of anything, wasn't familiar with your work. To say i'm blown away is a colossal understatement. That was one of the best horrors i've seen in a very long time. And the way it evokes mental health issues, what it feels like to be paranoid...night terrors... and that walk at the end, my god. Unreal
The amount of times I got actual goosebumps... please keep these coming. Psychological masterpieces
The simultaneous deep breath on the couch. Holy shit. This was spectacular. Someone needs to sign yall up for a full length feature. And the lighting was 🤌🏼
Well done, had my mind churning.
This is absolutely incredible, mind bending and terrifying, this and The Chair are by far my favorite horror short films out there
This was absolutely incredible. The acting, the mood, the suspense and creep factor of just WTF is going on here... You guys did a job so well I watched this twice! Bravo, seriously, bravo!
By far the scariest moment in a movie I've ever seen was a moment from the movie Pulse. It's a Japanese horror movie about ghosts from around 2001-2002. There was a scene with a ghost woman just walking and then stumbling for a second. It hit that uncanny valley spot so perfectly that I still remember how it literally made me shiver. I've just experienced it again at the end of this short with how the girl was walking.
That's exactly what I was about to comment. I think he got inspiration from that scene.
There’s a TH-cam video that examines that scene and that’s where I saw it. I was literally shitting myself it was so scary
@@eeebbb8106 yeah, same! I started that video, turned it off, watched the movie and then came back to the video. Amazing moment. Unfortunately, it was the only unsettling moment in the whole movie for me, but it was worth it
Yup I thought of the same scene when I saw that, it's probably inspired.
@@ElVic8514 “Inspiration” is a bit of an understatement
that double deep breath they took when he said death....omg insane. that trunk!!! best 20 minutes ever!!!!
You guys are killing it with these horror short films.... Im a fan of horror since I was a kid im 48 now and believe me its been long since ive been this creeped out... And your milk and serial.... Forget about it!!!! This is horror at it's best
I have been watching your shorts for weeks now, but i just started watching your longer videos ( the chair, enigma, and this one) and i have to say, i am so impressed with your acting ability and emotion portrayal. You are so good at directing too. most of your videos have little things in the background to notice as well. And you are so creative, never copying other common tropes. I would absolutely LOVE to see any genre of movie that was written, directed, or acted in by Curry Barker!
Pls Keep Creating for those of us see, love, and support your work
Keep making these, please. All your short films have been fantastic
Thank you. Thank you for this. It's been a few days since I've had a good nightmare. Can't wait to wake up sweating tonight.
This is such a talented group of actors. Omg. So damn good.
I watch all these "From the mind of Curry Barker" films with my hand at my throat and my eyes wide open and one of these days, I'ma stroke out. But it'll be so worth it. Dude. Omg.
Holy crap, that was creepier than most hollywood stuff!! I legitimately got chills multiple times!! Some really good acging too!!
You really have a knack for visualizing nightmare themes. Like not being able to stop a front door that's closing itself... original and super creepy.
Really good psychological thriller! One of the best horror shorts i have seen recently. Thank you for this film!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jesus you guys are talented. How are you producing content this fast, this well made!? Im a totally horror critic....some of the concepts you have used in this are better than 90% of the big budget shit you get out of the industry. Cuz ya'll are funny, I cant help but expecting a laugh but genuinely making good ambiguous uncanny horror takes talent and you guys did it. This is a masterpiece.
They have a decent camera. They have decent sound equipment and Lastly They figured out how to use "Their House" as the location with some driving around the street here and there.
They made a Good script and story.
I'm taking notes Because few months back I wanted to make a horror or psychological Short and just do it At the house we were In on vacation.
But realized you really need Full control of Surroundings and ppl like Having a Cast (Even a couple People )
Alot comes together in editing too.
But yeah... I have a 2 year old daughter and she wasn't gonna let me Even begin to Shoot something
Some of us like to write our bits months to years before. I have an entire comp book filled, enough for at least 3 years, some already recorded
This horror film is so good, I even had nightmares several nights in a row after watching it. Grown 35 yo man, wtf. This is gold, keep it up!
This is the best thing I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. Literally had me on the edge of my seat. Bravo gentlemen.
The chills and creep factor are top notch. Better than most feature length, big studio horror productions . You guys are insanely talented at building skin crawling suspense. All actors are very skilled at their craft as well. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve next.
Sometimes I watch these horror shorts and they never have a conclusion. Meaning you have to think what is happening for yourself. I have to say, this one was really good, Thank you. 😁
Damn literally had goosebumps multiple times through this!
please explain the ending
Their skits are already amazing, and the acting in this video just feels so *human*
It’s the slight tension and anxiety from dark open rooms that gets me. You know it’s good when you’re tilting the phone cuz you can’t look.
You seriously have so much potential. Both this and Enigma were so amazing. Keep up the great work!
This Curry Barker fella has a sick and twisted mind I'll tell ya that much!
