Hi it varies depending on the condition on your area you can try several of my recipes to test on your area, the vegan gumpaste is good for hot weather but melts on humid or rainy days because of humidity or moisture in the air, the maco paste is good and best for rainy and stprmy weather because it does not melt, however it has no taste so you need to add flavoring

Hi Mark, what brand of corn syrup you used. I live in NZ and we find queens brand of glucose syrup ( but the ingredients details call it as corn syrup) and wilton is calling it as glucose syrup but the details say it as corn. Quite confused.

In texture glucose is thicker than corn syrup. Which makes a paste different if you use glucose it will be more firm and like rubber compared to corn syrup
If dough form or paste form better if chiller because it will be harder as days pass by, even on airtight container, the reason why it's best stored in chiller is that when you take it out, take only what you need and let it thaw at room temp for 30 min to one hour, (in this process the paste will moist and the paste will absorb back the moisture it needs from the cold to room temp changes) then it will be easier to knead and form :))) if made into flowers or figures and dried, it will last at room temp airtight container for 1-2 years, if made into flowers and figures also and dried don't put it back inside the ref or chiller because it will melt :))))

I haven't tried the tylose syrup all I use is powder, but I believe it works same, start with half qty of that tylose syrup :)
