Pat is absolutely right on the abuse part. Morty is too young and incompetent to make mature decisions, so Rick takes advantage of that and strings him along these dangerous and demeaning missions. He may love him, but that doesn't make their relationship any less toxic

If you think about it, if not for Jerry, Morty's fake life would have gone on even longer making Rick's reveal even worse. So while it sucks, Jerry's mistake softened the terrible truth.
Honestly the fake acid vat is a good idea, you just can’t control how dumb other people will be. If it were me, I would’ve put in a tele-porter.
I think rick could’ve teleported out whenever, the problem is they needed to stick around just in case those other guys tried to test the acid (with a ladle or another body) so they could destroy the objects and release more fake bones. Maybe a better solution would be to teleport out immediately and have the fake acid be secretly acidified when they’re gone.

There’s no such thing as a bad idea it’s all about execution.
That’s what makes it a dumb idea. Rick usually has ideas that are super unpredictable and nearly unstoppable. He had contingency plans in case things didn’t go the way he expected but they weren’t very good. It was too easy to mess up. you just said what you would have added. That’s something that Rick didn’t add. He could have but he didn’t.
Rick has shown time and time again that he can make himself invulnerable to about everything besides literal godly beings. He chooses to put himself and Morty through most of the shit that they go through.
8:57 they didnt notice that the passengers are dressed like the South Park boys. Mortys dressed like Kenny, The black dude has Stans hat on & so on.

Rick in the Double Cross Heist episode Rick only did it because Summer made it seem like Morty would move on without him.
In this Rick knew it was a bad idea to have a save point device. But didn't explain. Just told Morty it was stupid because "I told you so".
Just because you go back to an abuser in the happy times doesn't mean you agree with getting abused.
Rick specifically said he was going to ruin Morty's pitch and get him to stop. Beth told him Morty needs to decide for himself if he wants to back out of the pitch meeting. So Rick orchestrated the whole thing.

We don’t know what their relationship was like before rick started bringing Morty along with him
Rick isn’t giving lessons, he’s the spoiled child in this, he just wanted to prove Morty wrong and break his spirit so that he can stay in charge. That’s their dynamic, if you’re looking at Rick as a wise grandpa figure get a therapist and work through your childhood trauma. That being said 9/10 great episode.
This is why I hope in the end of the whole series,morty finally gets tired of Rick's bs and starts to outsmart rick and replace him as the smartest being of the universe.

I don’t think Morty is ever going be smarter than Ricky with science, and I don’t want him to be. Morty’s is the opposite of Rick not because he’s slow but because he’s emotionally intelligent, he already “out smarts” Rick all the time he’s fully capable of seeing Ricks weaknesses and exploiting them, he literally TRICKED Rick into bringing Jerry on an adventure just to have some down time. And Evil!Morty has is never been technologically capable he manipulates the Ricks around him. Rick probably recognizes that Morty’s a danger to him but can’t overcome his emotional retardation so he just keep trying to break Morty’s spirit....but an emotional intelligent person could tell you that that’s gonna back fire big time.

Morty's idea was good, the thing is that Rick decided to do it in a very specific way. Rick said he wouldn't do time travel so he instead sent Morty through different realities which would explain why Jessica's reaction to Morty early in the event was drastically different the 2nd time Morty talked to her.
I was under the impression that he didn't approach her the same way the second time.
This guy she doesn't know shows up to tell her he knows her and that they had shared some time together and all this other stuff.
Of course she thought he was crazy and pepper sprayed him

It's kinda exasperating to watch these guys reactions when the show is slightly smarter than "haha scientist guy goes pew pew". Alive? Click? The Prestige? Batman? All of those references and punchlines flew over their heads. Also Rick wasn't trying to prove that Morty's idea was bad, because he didn't build Morty's idea. He was trying to get back at Morty for calling the vat lame because Rick is that petty.

Rick isn't really trying to teach Morty any lessons or anything though. In the heist episode, Rick deliberately conditioned Morty to reject heists by immersing himself in one to drain the fun out of it so Morty wouldn't get signed on with Netflix and Rick could keep his assistant. It was all about Rick, not Morty.
And in this episode, Rick could have made the device morty was talking about, but he didn't like the idea. The entire point here was to get back at Morty for not falling in line. He even said so in the episode. "Don't ever make fun of me again" or whatever it was he said specifically. For Rick, it was all just revenge for Morty growing some balls and backsassing him. There was no lesson in there, just revenge.
In the beginning of this episode before Rick gave Morty the save point remote 4:24 Rick said "Morty when did you get so cocky" Rick wasn't being petty.. Remmeber a cocky Morty is bad for everyone

Technically it wasn't Jerry's fault, as matter of fact he kinda did Morty and his girlfriend, well ex girlfriend, or supposed to be... somewhere in the multiverse happened girlfriend a favor. He basically stopped them from experiencing the plane crash and being lost with 2 other survivors in a frozen wasteland going through hell to make it back. All he did was reset Morty to the day he met her. He had his chance but he scared her and got pepper sprayed. Its guy 101 to always give the first expression to a girl. Even if Jerry didn't press the button the outcome would've been no different. Rick was right from the start about pausing and resetting time because you don't learn from them. That's why he doesn't respect time travel. Morty would've been back at that same garage with the same conversation with rick how morty created multiple universes. One another Morty was gonna fuck up. Rick knew it was gonna happen and he'll be back and he was watching the whole time.
So I just noticed that they've censored Rick's drinking habit this season.
Now they do that lame ass Network tv thing where the character is seen holding a cigarette/drink but they never actually drink.
