- Abandoned Perkins - Erie, PA. This restuarant closed in September 2019 after a legal battle that took place. This store along with 26 other locations were forced to close because the franchisee was not paying to use the Perkins name and was selling items not approved by Perkins.

So nice of you to take the time to do these, and we can tell they really mean something to you as they meant to us. I used to live in Erie, and near the closed Perkins. I can't imagine why they closed; so many neighborhoods around there, and older people who loved going there.
The one in Edinboro is still open.
Perkins does have great breakfasts for a reasonable price... and free breakfast on your birthday. Ours here in Lemoyne, PA (Harrisburg) has never disappointed.
Its shame I dont have any near me anymore unless I drive over an hour away. I dont get to eat at Perkins nearly at all as a result.
I could go for some pancakes, bacon, eggs and coffee right about now. The one here in Canton still has the blue trap over the all the Perkins signs. Also thanks for the snowy background, because you know I love the snow lol.
When my mom was still alive she love that location it was her favorite place to eat

In 1985 to 86 i was in harborcreek youth services on Iroquois ave in Erie.
Was just at the Perkins in Allentown pa. On our way to the kiss concert back in February. Nice restaurant...
It's nice that you were at a place that you had eaten at when it was open. It's amazing how quickly places fall into disrepair. I was at a Steak & Ale not long ago, it was a place that I had eaten at too.
Just typed in Erie...alot of videos abandoned Perkins, Steak n shake and Kmart. What a place

Perkins still has several locations in Pennsylvania but around Erie and surrounding counties, they are very limited because of the franchise mess. My local one in Cranberry Township closed as well as a result of the franchisee mess.

Good video! I live in New York state and most of the Perkins in our state have been closed up. I do believe they are all gone from our state! Sad to see them go!

The Buffalo Road location is still open, thank goodness.
That and the Peach Street one. For me, that one is closer to wear I stay in Erie. Buffalo Road is a little bit of a ride.

There used to be one in my area in Virginia which was in Ashland and it was really good!!! Been abandoned for years!!!

I miss Perkins! i used to always ask my parents to stop there while we were on a trip to Maine or Pennsylvania. I would always get their pancakes. There's one in Lancaster, PA that's been sitting there abandoned for many years now, as well. Don't know if it's still just sitting there, since it's been a while now since I've been that way.
I love their breakfast. The pancakes are good. I love the country fried steak biscuits they have. I wouldn't be surprised if that one that is closed is still sitting there.

hi wallie at 2:16 is a fomer ponderosa and we use to have a perkins in my area but it closed in 1994 and demolished in 2002 to make way for chipotle

Perkins is part of Marie Callender's, which filed recently for bankruptcy (the same company that still makes frozen dinners and such). Other locations open under both brand names - MC is the name most people on the West coast would be familiar with and not Perkins - have also closed due to lack of business, well before the current COVID-19 crisis.
I am a former Erieite/Millcreek resident and also remember eating at the West Lake Road location when growing up. With the restaurant's now being closed, though, be careful not to get arrested for trespassing by being on private property without permission.
BBQ place down the road going in the old Perkins on West 8th Street as of Aug.2022.
The shakopee mn perkins closed too. customer service after 10 pm was shit, one family at a time was seated and served and cleaned up before they allowed another

It's a shame when we have a good restaurant close. I've eaten at the Perkins Restaurant a number of times in Wheeling, WV. They have good food and service. You take Oglebay exit of I 70 east to go that Perkins restaurant.
I’ve only ever been to Perkins once, in Breezewood, PA. Not sure if it’s still open.

I grew up eating at this Perkin's I remember when they had a salad bar long ago.
Oh wow. I didn't know they had a salad bar. I guess they discontinued that at every location.
This restaurant is currently being repurposed and remodeled to a restaurant local to the area, Underdog BBQ.

It was in bad shape when it was open , my guess is they couldn't work on it because they were too busy?
We used to sit & smoke and drink coffee all nite since they were open 24Hr.
Too bad that one closed and is in such bad shape already. Perkins is good. One thing I'm probably going to do once I can again is go to my local Perkins, and probably a local place called Fry'n Pan, both of which I really like.
Where I'm from Perkins never did well. Those type of places here are far and in between. I think it's the service/hospitality that killed there business.
I think it depends on the franchisee as well. There have been some that were great and one here or there that was subpar. Just depends on which one you go to.
I love Perkins but none in new england

Yeah I've had a huge backlog of videos that I'm catching up on. Hence why I'm only getting this video up now. I have more from February and March to be uploaded! And knowing the area, this place is most likely just going to sit here until someone else would lease/buy it.

Gross story . Ate with my mom and dad at perkins in my city. Well we all ordered food . And my dad goes to eat his salad well long behold . . . . . . . . .they left a drain catcher in the bottom of his salad on the plate .
