Loved Rod's style especially in the early days. Saw him w/ the Small Faces in winter of '72. What a show he put on. Long player LP had just came out. What a show man that he was. All of the original members. $3.00. Wow!
@@kennethjohnson3895 I too saw them back in the 70's, at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. A buddy of mine worked there and at the last minute it was decided that a certain section of seating would not be used for sound equipment. It ended up with around 20 of us in probably the best seats in the house. We sat stage high with one end of it about 5 ft. from the end of the stage. Rod actually sang to us from around 5 or 6 ft. away. Re-hashing the concert over a coupla of brewskis afterwards, we all seemed to have the same experience when Rod was 5 ft. away and singing to us. The nice unspoken part of this song is that , yes indeed, we do survive and learn. It isn't easy and some caution would spare us a LOT of pain, yet here we are, looking back from a place of security and wisdom and (hopefully) happiness. There are tons of things that people can tell you about, warn you about, but it doesn't really mean anything until you let it happen to YOU. Here's to all of us survivors.
Some humasnoids get little or virtually no excited glad, happy or pleasurable emotional training during the first 5 years of life and learn to "do" semi-feral and never achieve the capability to grow and survive and learn. My father says the same thing. I've always tried to listen to words, and the lyrics of this song simply reminds me we all have to learn things the hard way, although we wish we didn't have to.
Silly thing to say. Without trying to sound boastful or dashingly debonairish, it was the other way around for me and my buddies in our late teens through our 20's. With me, if a woman ever even *threatened* to beg off sex as a way of getting at me I'd walk. There are soooo many fish in the sea.
It'll be a sad day TeamGREEN but stay strong and honor his wishes. I just turned 65 this past June and, for the 1st time in my life I had to come to terms with my own mortality.
