I love this wreath! Galveston, Texas throws a big annual Mardi Gras celebration similar to New Orleans with parades, lots of beads, music, parties, and drinking.
Your wreath screams MardiGras, job well done. My husband and I actually went to MardiGras in 2012. It was really neat to take a tour and see how the floats were built.

I celebrate it by going to Louisiana. It's the most amazing street party and the parades. The masks they have are the most gorgeous. The feathers they use are so perfect. However, they are very expensive depending on which one you want to purchase. The elaborate ones can even run in the thousands of dollars.

I believe that Mardi Gras is mostly celebrated in Louisiana, because of the the French history there. February however, is a month of worldwide carnivals and I love the masks and the way the wreath came out.
ONE OF YOUR BEST!! We used to celebrate Lent because on Fridays at McDonald's, Filet-O-Fish were reduced in price. Three years ago, they stopped the discount. So disappointing!! It's the only time we ever went to McDonald's. A year later, a lot of other fast-food places began offering fish sandwiches (even Der Weinerschnitzel) so they lost money because of politics. SAD!!

I just finished making an 18" version of this wreath for my son & daughter-in-law who live near Mobile, AL, and I LOVE how it turned out! This will be our 2nd year going down to visit them for Mardi Gras - last year we had a blast at 3 different parades and caught all kinds of treasures. Hi Dave I did get my wreath done yesterday using your bubble method. I used yellow and white. Then today I did a cross wreath using your ribbon method with purple and white shimmer. They came out great I’m told. Lol

New Orleans just took it over the top with parade season. If you look it up we( Mobile, Alabama) are were it originated. Take care n happy Mardi Gras!
