- Grace McCallum, an Isanti native, was chosen to fill the fourth spot on the U.S. women's team by a selection committee following a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Olympic Trials in June. McCallum is a four-time member of the U.S. National Team.

This is one of my favorite gymnast interviews EVER. I just saw a piece with Grace's mom where she said Grace was a shy child. This gave me a lot of insight. Congratulations to both the interviewer and Grace. This seemed very relaxed and the questions were excellent. To Grace, I would like to say that I think your gymnastics is absolutely beautiful and I believe that they chose you for the team for your consistency and positivity in high pressure situations. Even if she doesn't nail it every time, she is calm and supportive to everyone else- it is a TEAM, and Grace is really cut out for holding it down for everyone else. I genuinely want to see you shine in Tokyo!

She’s the only one where I’m not sure what she would medal on individually. If at all. I would love to see all the gymnasts get a medal besides the team one.
I'm afraid she will not make any finals.. 2 teammates will always be ahead of her :(. I'm hoping she will though!
Of the 6 US gymnasts who competed in Tokyo, 4 won at least one medal besides the team silver: Jade, gold, floor; MyKayla, silver, vault; Simone, bronze, beam; Suni, gold, all-around. (Suni won bronze in something else, as I remember her saying in one interview she took home one of each color.)

Or at least the tallest of the 6 US gymnasts at the Tokyo 202One Olympics. I don't know (or know how to find out) who was the tallest female gymnast at any Olympics, representing any country.
