    Hit-by-pitch should be like technical fouls in the NBA, toss on 1 if excessively flagrant, toss on 2 regardless. After so many accumulated HBP, suspensions. since pitchers only pitch every 3 or 4 days, suspend for 2 weeks, then 4 weeks, et cetera.

In ALL of the videos available on the internet there is literally only 1 time a hitter has attacked the pitcher with a bat and he was arrested on the field by police. I played baseball from age 4-23 and never once heard of a hitter attacking a pitcher with a bat.
      This is one of those moments where you have to choose whether or not you’re a bisshh of a man.

    I hate these kinds of plays, but man, when Matt Barnes threw that pitch at Machado...he definitely deserved it. He basically ended Pedroia's career with his dirty slide into 2nd.
    On the Dempster hitting of Arod....HAHA. He said he was going to drill him and he DID. Man of his word...well worth it!

    I don't understand why the Diamondbacks retaliated against the Marlins. You can clearly tell by Fernandez' reaction that he was deeply upset. In no way was that intentional. A pitcher hitting a batter on purpose would ever show concern for what happened. Clearly an accident and he clearly felt bad.

    i think this is the only thing why i hate baseball...getting hit by a pitch can be devastating to a players' career and the pitcher sometimes doesnt give a shit & tries to "send a message" its very unsafe, very unprofessional, very old school, and doesnt belong in a professional sport - sure it happens in like basketball for flagrant fouls for example or maybe in hockey but it just happens too consistently in baseball

      Understandable tbh. Every hit-by-pitch should be looked at carefully to examine intent from the replay, and if it was determined to be deliberate, yeah that's grounds for immediate ejection from the game and maybe even a suspension of sorts...

      Now, I'll admit I don't know _all_ the rules, but I'm fairly confident that's not how it works.

      @@RipleySawzen the ball never hit his head, it was a changeup that broke towards the hitters side, went behind him, and hit the bat. Very strange pitch to be throwing at someone’s head, so I’m not certain that it was fully intended.
      If there’s a rule about hitters getting hit off the nub of the bat and it still counting as a foul ball, I believe the bat behind the hitter would also count?

      A. It takes 10 frames for the ball to travel the 60 feet to his head, then 4 frames to travel the 2 feet to his bat. How did the ball slow down so much?
      B. The speed of the ball obviously changes from frame 10 of the pitch to frame 11
      C. The angle of the ball changes in these same frames
      D. His head jolts for one frame by 3x the distance of any other frame on frame 11
      E. You can hear two impacts if you listen closely

    Cueto struck out Braun on his last at-bat. Braun answered with a double on the next at-bat. Cueto was congratulating Braun for the hit. It wasn't revenge, it was more or less respect
