  • Previously in my “Rocky Mountain Adventures” travel series we began our journey by traveling over 1300 miles to the picturesque city of Denver, Colorado - the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. The amount of beauty found within this part of the country is simply breathtaking, and I cannot wait to share my travels with you all as we explore Colorado together. Our first stop for Day 1’s itinerary was an iconic tourist destination an hour south of Denver in Colorado Springs. Garden of the Gods is a remarkable park full of geological wonders just waiting to be discovered and was the perfect way to kickstart this adventure.
In today’s episode we will visit another outdoor paradise within Colorado Springs - The Broadmoor Seven Falls. “Regarded as “The Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado”, the approach to Seven Falls excites the senses and foreshadows the dramatic landscape ahead. Crystal clear water from the Pikes Peak watershed has shaped a spectacular natural box canyon: the steep-walled, enclosed canyon that’s become symbolic of the American West.
The towering Pillars of Hercules flank the canyon and amplify its grandeur as they rise to over 900 feet above the canyon floor… while narrowing to a mere 41 feet apart. And cutting through their pink granite, we find the only waterfall in Colorado to have earned a spot on National Geographic’s list of International Waterfalls.
Once inside Seven Falls, you’ll be enveloped by cliffs and delighted by the cascade of water. The falls tumble 181 feet down the head of this box canyon, dancing from granite face to granite face in seven distinct leaps. For those who want to dive into nature and are seeking adventure, take the 224 steps by the side of the falls that lead to hiking trails and the banks of the glistening stream that feeds the falls. Browse our shops or stroll the 2,500-foot-long, natural-surface walking trail”.

Thank you for watching! Next time I return I want to walk all the way up the stairs. I’m a little afraid of heights 😂

@@Ositobobito That’s another point I wanted to mention, the elevators only take you to the gift shop and observation deck. If you walk all the way up the stairs there are even more waterfalls as well as a beautiful mountain hike at the top. That will give me incentive to conquer my fear next time to see those beautiful falls. lol
