Hi Lauren! I am a Jewish viewer of yours, Matzos is usually eaten with butter. The reason that matzos isn’t for Passover is because it does have yeast in it. Normal Matzos for Passover doesn’t, because during Passover the only “bread” we eat is Matzos. Hopes this helps!

I love this. Actually, bread snack is more common than you think. Mother told me that in Paris they actually buy baguettes and walk eating them. Some rub garlic in the baguette to make garlic bread. Baguette is one of my favorite bread. I love the more "crunchy in the outside and soft in the inside" type of bread, those are on my top list!

In France we also eat "flute" it's better as a snack when it comes to bread and it's very crunchy, but.. yeah when it comes to bread in general, baguette is alwas way to go ^^ especially the rustic ones (they are bit more expensive but has stonger flavour).

I'd love for Lauren to try how bad so many gluten free breads are. Here in the UK, so many have to be toasted to make them even useable instead of a dry crumbly mess
I'm in the US and Gluten Free by allergy but I usually stick to Udi's and Schar bread.
@Scottish Lassie I usually get schar ciabatta rolls, but Warburtons have just released gluten free soft brioche rolls, and they're not dry. Where I live you don't get gluten free bakery bread in any Tesco I've been to in the Highlands, and I've not come across it in Edinburgh or Glasgow either
@@aubreygrace3337 I just wish Schar breads and rolls were bigger 😩 There's a gluten free brand here called Jovivi that uses milk and lactose as a substitute for gluten. I'm not used to bread having milk in it, so I was really glad I double checked the ingredients because I can't have dairy either. Having to check everything I buy, even when it's with other free from foods is such a pain

The reason the matzoh wand tops her for Passover is probably because the ingredients, water and flour, were mixed for longer than 18 minutes before they went into the oven. If more than 18 minutes pass after the flour and water touch before they go into the oven then it is not good for Passover.

Lauren, you NEED to try tiger bread. I know you'll love it. It is very popular in the UK and it's so buttery and fresh. Tiger bread is crunchy on the outside and magnificently soft on the inside - as soon as you bite it, it would be like biting into a cloud.

So happy as a Jew that you tasted challah! Homemade challah is amazing and I believe it tasted better with soft butter over hard butter! Also as far as matzah goes the reason it’s not kosher for Passover is because of the salt. Matzah has multiple uses. You have to get creative around Passover such as making sandwiches, pizza, matzah brei which is similar to French toast, just straight up putting soft butter on it, etc. Love your videos. I think of you as like an older sister to me! Thank you for always being weird and yourself it encourages me to continue to be my weird quirky self!

In Germany we have a bread that’s called “Seele” and translated would mean ‘soul’. It’s long like a baguette with salt, rosemary and cumin. You should try it. :D And the best thing. You can say you eat souls for breakfast. 🥖

I feel like bread tastes differently when it's warmed up or toasted. I love sourdough but only when it's toasted and/or used as the bread for a sandwich. There's something about the taste that adds flavor to it. Plus white bread only tastes better when toasted too lol

Fun fact (also kinda my opinion) : Sour dough tastes.. DELICIOUS, as garlic bread.
How to make it: The ingredients you’ll need are, Sour dough bread, crushed garlic, Parmesan cheese, and butter.
First things first, take your bread and spread butter all around it and put it in the oven for about 5 minutes. Then take it out.
Add Parmesan cheese along the bread. Next add your crushed garlic evenly across the bread. Now put it back in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
And your done! (Let the oven broil a bit before you put the bread in…)

Ciabatta bread, from what I know, is one of the types of breads that fall under the umbrella term of "Italian bread". They're VERY great for soup/broth kinds of foods, I personally prefer it with chili. I love folding it much like a hotdog bun to fill it with chili, or even something like a beef stew.

I need to put in a good word for challah, it makes some of the best French toast because it's so good at soaking up the eggy milk stuff.
The fact that Lauren eats hummus with naan instead of the way that it was intended, which is with pita, makes my Israeli heart hurt
I find the love of matzah to be hilarious tbh. Every non-Jewish friend I have ever had has asked to try it and has always been like "wow this is amazing." Try having to spend a week where matzah is the only bread you're allowed to eat (and not the salted kind ha), then maybe it'll get to it's true ranking: I'd still eat it (because I'm required to)

I'm not sure if this is common outside of the southern Florida/hispanic community, but id want to see what Lauren would think of cuban bread, it's literally my favorite bread! Since she seems to like softer breads she'd def have to try it when it's fresh cause it does harden up over time, but I love it either way ESPECIALLY with butter and more specifically tostada with cafe con leche.
